I’ve decided to change my job title from mathematics teacher to learning facilitator of mathematics. Hopefully this will encourage the students to own their learning a bit more and not expect me to just give them the whole answer.

Attended some awesome PD today and got to meet two of my inspirations as a teacher - Craig Barton and Ollie Lovell. Challenging me to be reflective and hopefully improve my teaching practices

My challenger for this long weekend was to watch all the mission impossible movies. Up to 4. Have even managed to do some lesson prep.

Year 12 parent teacher interviews tonight - good focused convos. 1 parent made me cry cause she cried cause her daughter felt so safe in my class. Severe mental struggles so even finishing school is a feat and still managing ext1 maths -this is why I teach, so they love to learn

Well that’s it I am shattered and it’s only Monday!! Alarm at 5.30am walking from station, full day of teaching and heat. It’s 7.20pm and I am contemplating bed.

So ms19 and I are trying Pilates at the moment. First session went well, second session involved lunges and the two of us have been hurting for 48hrs so far! Knees are not impressed with me.

Christmas Eve movie was Red One - not too bad once all connection to reality is suspended. Christmas Day games included Psycho Killer and Cards Against Humanity Absurd deck. All in all a good day and many hysterical laughs were had.

My amazing year 10 class made 216 triangular pyramids to construct the Sierpinski fractal Christmas tree 💚

First immunotherapy injection done! Hoping to treat allergies to cats, dust mites and grass. Was itchy as all get up for about 6 hours and that’s a half dose!

Had a doozy of a day - busy and disagreeing with a colleague. Ended up leaving early so that I didn’t say something I would regret. We are all tired at the pointy end of the term. Now two days of year 10 camp to go this week! I can do this!
