V long time ago...rugby match for local schools area team and the weather was v v wet. I rang the school where we were playing and convinced they said the match was cancelled. I told all the other players from my school, 7 or 8 of 1st 15. No one went. Was not cancelled. V angry parents and teachers.

Discovered today that a script that I wrote well over a year ago for thing I have been dipping in to since has not ever been doing what I thought it was, but somehow I have not ever noticed because my error/omission was masked by other things/sounds. Work might now be too sonically dense when fixed!

Spent today hacking together an application for ICMC since they extended the deadline. Last time I applied one reviewer commented 'rather extreme' and I got a no. Since nothing exceeds like excess, I've turned up extreme to 11, although it feels a bit pointless for c.8min of structured improv #noise

This reminds me of my worst school day out, to Brighton Dolphinarium, in about 1979. I'd been given 50p and bought a can of Lilt and some Juicy Fruit. The ring pull snapped off the can, I had to pierce the can and covered myself in Lilt. The Juicy Fruit pulled out a tooth filling on the coach back.

Asked my students to make binaural sound-led audio dramas for coursework this semester, and they're great to listen to, but after suggesting they work on sound design "right at the periphery of hearing, something you're not sure if you've heard it" my brain is v foggy from ultra-focused listening!

I have quite a specific memory of Do Nothing, but probably dating about 6 months after the release, of sitting in my grandparents garden on a summer day and hearing it drifting out of the bedroom window of a teenager who lived a few doors down. As I've said before, first music I was really in to.

Was gifted this through the window from a friend down the road because I had chicken pox. Still makes my feet go 45 years later.
