This is just my personal opinion, but I think things like the addition of Chinese dubbing in CrossWorlds and collaborations with Evangelion and Godzilla are probably intended to boost Sonic's popularity in Asia, where the franchise has traditionally been less popular than it is in the West.

My ears could be wrong, but the programmed instrument patches in Molten Mine and The Cauldron sound a bit different from the original tracks. For example, in Molten Mine, the original version of Black Dawn clearly has brass coming from a synthesizer, but in Molten Mine, it doesn’t sound that way.
