#gamedev friends, particularly in tech art, how do you combat the feeling that there are always like 10+ things you “should” learn about, on top of what you already do? I constantly think I should be learning more about modeling, texturing, proc gen, lighting, and also specific programs and plugins…

Inspired by @seangobey.bsky.social’s GCAP talk on procedural modeling and @highlyspammable.bsky.social’s videos on PCG, I spent some time recently playing with a procedural wall generator that can do some destruction too. Last week was my first GCAP and while socially overwhelming, it was really wonderful getting to hang out with so many current and former colleagues and meet some new friends. Plus, Stray Gods won game of the year at the AGDAs. What!?
