I've told my sister no less than seven times in very plain English I do not need another coat, no I do not want a coat. I think I might WhatsApp her this every day until Christmas so she gets the message.

I'm meant to be tidying up. So far I've half folded clothes, put some stuff on the tree, moved some more clothes, put some stuff on the tree...

I'm off work today. I have spent the first hour awake scrolling through cards online. When they put the "no rude cards" filter on I'm not sure who's responsible for tagging the cards because I'm fairly sure I don't want the word fucking on any card to my mum.

Facebook giveaway collection number two is complete, one more to go and then I can take my jeans off. I might finally put the lights on my tree but I have that thing where I can't do anything if I know I have to do something else in 40 minutes. I think I'll go and put the shower curtain back up.

I have made a terrible mistake (this is nothing new), I have got all the Christmas stuff out from under the bed and also put a wash on. I now have nowhere to put the washing rack.

One week since I assembled my new smaller Christmas tree. One week I've been looking at it undecorated to the point where it's now just another house plant.

Pray for me Bluesky. I've just listed some stuff on Facebook involving a 6ft Christmas tree and other assorted festive items. Release the maniacs!

Nothing says "festive!!" like my sister popping out and seeing that they've got a wreath making class at the Marie Curie shop but there's only one person there. I seem to react better when someone gives me 7 minutes notice to get to an event. I now have equipment to make a foliage wreath. 🍃🍂🍁

I'm getting angry with my Christmas tree lights so I'm putting on Single All The Way on Netflix with a cup of tea to calm me down.

I bought a smaller tree. I had also bought a pre-lit smaller tree that I took back on Tuesday. I'm cursing Tuesday me while putting the bastard lights on the tree just now. I hate this job.

Went to look at the Christmas craft sale at the café in the park, got a fuss of a white Jack Russell who win it rolled over for belly rubs was not white underneath. Turns out low bellies drag in the mud.

It's very off-brand for me to be on time, even less so to be early. I've arrived and my sister had barely left the house.

A colleague is arguing about Die Hard with the colleague who insists on calling jam & cream ring biscuits 'jammy dodgers'. It's going great.

One for all the Mandys. My colleague came back from Belgium the other day with a big bag of Mandy brand crisps.

PARENTS ASSEMBLE: for those of you with older kids/teenagers what would be something they would want that I can buy for the toy drive at work. I try to go for something for older kids because a lot of people buy young toys. I've done pamper gift bags before but I'm on the lookout for other ideas.

This week's new addition to the vending machine is a CLUB CHUNKY!

OMG my department is DISEASED. The colleague I sit next to is on her 3rd week of the cold she had before I was off. My manager is coughing like a four year-old who doesn't know to cover their mouth, my other colleague sounds like she's on her last legs after a mustard gas attack. One stayed at home.

I've had a week off, I've put my alarms back on. I'm going to try and start the regime of hiding my second phone so I have to get out of bed to turn the alarm off. And not get back in bed.

Today I wore my not-Christmas-but-seasonal jumper with the squirrels on it. Please pretend you can't see where I dropped egg yolk down it (twice) at the garden centre café.

Went and got my parents' tree today. Sad that we will not have the annual tree inspection from Georgie this year (and the subsequent freak out when she realises it's come in the house) so here is some archive footage of the 2023 inspection.

We don't binge tv serieseses really but yesterday @jimofthenorth.bsky.social and I completed Slow Horses level 5 in one afternoon/evening.

Although it hasn't been feeling that cold today, the flat is currently 14.7 so I've given in and put the storage heater on for the first time. That means by 7:30am it will kick in and I'll be gently cooked by the time my alarm goes off.

Needed a job, agency sent me there, fortunately I was efficient enough for them to keep me. It's not a career, it's a job that I've never left. I have to remind myself regularly of the ultimate end result of what i do every day just to keep myself going.
