After a week of being sick, I'm starting to feel clear headed enough & motivated enough to work & start being creative again. I've lost a great deal of time when I need to try & find a way to make up for it & the emotional & mental depletion of that didn't help.

Such an ENORMOUS career, I was only watching Secondhand Lions about a week ago & it had been a while since I'd seen it. Godspeed to one of the all-time greats...

This is just sad. Why should you EVER have to apologise for taking a creative risk like this? Because by doing this you are basically talking down to your audience & treating them like children. This is why the franchise is stagnating severely right now.

While I've been ill I've been killing some time giving this a read. This was recommended to me by a friend on Twitter and I love James Gurney's work & burning through this is so interesting because it's such a helpful book when it comes to understanding the fundamentals of painting.

I've been sick as a dog since the weekend due to a cold & it's taken all of the energy out of me to really create anything, so I'm using all that spare time to catch up on reading & video games until I feel better again. Because the restlessness is aggravating to deal with.

It's really quite sad how they've taken an iconic character like Astro Boy & reduced him to that of a homogenized Disney character. All the smooth edges shaved off & made into something palatable, that's a middle finger to a character that has been around for 70 years.

Well, this has been on my radar for a bit. Let's take a look & see what have.

The first game is one of my all-time favourites & I was head over the moon excited to hear that was going to be a sequel. Played it for 8 hours, then I played it again. I didn't like it. The visuals were wrong, the voices were wrong, the music was wrong, the atmosphere was wrong. It was a mess.
