I used to work on Spring Garden, north of Center City in Philadelphia. There was a guy with a food cart outside my building. 1 thing he made that was new to me was egg & pepper sandwiches on Philadelphia Italian bread. Amazing. I made some tonight, 1st time in 18 yrs. No great bread but so good!

Visitors in the front yard this morning. We've seen a group grow from tiny babies to a big flock of mostly grown turkeys.

I try to play at least a little every day to keep my fingers somewhat functional. Osteoarthritis in my hands is getting worse and I'm scared of the day when I might not be able to play anymore. I got out the 12-string and it's reminding me I don't play enough. Paid $100 for it years ago and love it.

She only knows how to eat her cookies in the house on her bed. She carried it outside and then walked around whimpering until I gave up and we went inside.

Coffee on the porch. Birds all over the place. Hummingbirds fighting over the feeder. Squirrels wanting the feeders but concerned that the dog might eat them. It's a beautiful day.

We've had some visitors this weekend.

Instead of being smart and going to bed, or reading a good book, I decided to watch a video of a total knee replacement. I'd previously just watched an animation of one. Having had both my knees replaced last year, I'm now a little traumatized, and I see why it hurt.

Got some Marvin Gaye playing, good book on the Nook. Laundry running down the hall. Not a bad way to spend Sunday morning. And the Stones just cycled in the shuffle. Yay!

I don't typically work from home. It's a nice treat to enjoy a few minutes on the porch.

We had an unusual visitor on the porch. An Eastern Dobsonfly. We don't have any fast moving streams in our immediate vicinity, we've only got a small creek in a deep draw behind the house. We're pretty sure it was nearing the end of its life, but we moved it into some plants for comfort.

Just some flowering mimosas. I tried and failed to get pics of butterflies, bees and hummingbirds.

Nice day for having a drink and roasting coffee on the deck.

Been back at work 2 days. Insanity has been rampant. Beer is good.

Last day of vacation. Beer on the porch watching very many fireflies, hearing frogs, bugs and birds. Nice trip to the middle of the country, but damn, it's even nicer to be back home.

Just handed this vintage Fender Capistrano that I've had for 25 years to our almost 11 yr old son. He's been taking lessons for awhile using a less than nice beginner Washburn. This Fender isn't my best guitar, is far from my most valuable, but it's been my favorite for years. Guess I love the boy.

500 pounds of sand and rock. 150 pounds of asphalt. One fixed driveway hole, one tired dude. Pizza from a local pizza place helps.
