command I was using to reset winget can sometimes hang so the actual solution seems to be kill winget, reset winget, sleep 5 seconds, run any winget command with accept agreements and disable interactivity flags. crazy. all of this would've taken 10 minutes on linux.

resetting winget to refresh its internal db also causes the winget.exe to briefly disappear so if you have don't wait a bit after, your shit will break with "winget is not a command" and i dunno man like... can we please start acting like a funny-number-money company pls?

managed to do it today. problem was winget was not properly updating its internal sqlite db file 🙂

today's conclusion is that winget (also) blows, or the devs, but i think it is both unfortunately. ms has had complete monopoly over desktop PCs for the past 45 years but the second you want to automate any kind of software deployment, good luck.

yesterday when I got home after 2 weeks away, my arch broke. not sure why but the nvidia-open-dkms package was just not able to compile for the main kernel. chroot to the rescue and instead of being on the zen kernel, now I just have normal one and lts, with respective nvidia stuff. much safer!
