replaying symphonia and there's no reason for this room filled with cats to exist and it's kinda hidden away, but i respect whomever decided that it needed to exist anyway. They made those cat models & animations and they're gonna use them!!

have to say, waking up at 4am is pretty great. All the benefits of being awake at a weird hour for several hours, but also get to be awake during normal business hours so I can do regular person things too.

was in the mood to make something cute with the characters i designed the other day.

haven't done any art in a while, and felt the need to make simple designs of some characters who were in my head.

sometimes you just get the urge to play an old snes jrpg. been playing through 'dual orb' a jp exclusive game that never got a fan translation and so far is like dollar store dragon quest (you literally get your quest from a dragon even).

apparently it takes a ton of effort for me to switch my sleep schedule to normal person hours, but once my plans are done i immediately go back to staying up all night.

today's city the animation episode! i think i need to rewatch it, but that was incredible.

i was supposed to be packing for my flight wednesday morning since i'll be busy most of the day tomorrow, but kept working on gamedev stuff instead. the east coast timezone shift is going to be so bad with how late i stay up normally.

on a different note, realizing that I do not care too much for inking. coloring a sketch directly or going completely lineless is fun and good enough for me to still be happy with the result.

well now I have like 10 pages of a design doc and a page and a half of story/character ideas written. honestly makes it feel a lot more approachable. thinking it might be good to make a short thing first once the architecture is implemented as a proof of concept though.

Ended up staying up all night, but now I've got a fancy graph editor plugin working in godot, pretty neat.

gave someone permission to park in my parking space and today they sent me a bouquet as thanks.

Made a new vtube studio plugin over the last 2 days. Has a neat little interface for configuring stuff.

watched through star twinkle precure this past week, was very enjoyable.

of the like 9 potted plants i got last june, my last surviving one is finally on it's way out. i'm still proud of it though, i thought that particular one was gonna be one of the first to go, but it outlasted every other plant i had.

thinking about trying to get into making music again, but have previously realized my biggest weakness is that i like to have stuff on in the background to listen to while i work on things, and that workflow just does not mesh with music (or really any work that deals with sound)

you ever have a tiny idea so spend 13 straight hours drawing and rigging a new vtuber model just to get it out of your head (little spinning animation in the eyes)? anyway, fun that i know how to animate things in live2d now.

was really excited that after really wanting a croissant this morning i actually got up and drove somewhere to eat one. sometimes really basic and mundane tasks feel like incredible feats, and i guess at the very least i was rewarded with a tasty treat.

guess i'm having a cozy evening watching the new tim rogers video.

almost got hit by a guy on an electric unicycle today, life is good.

it's been one year since i stopped working today. it's been an interesting year, but one thing i'm really happy about is the fact that i'm not constantly tired all the time anymore.

playing around with blender again, messing with some shaders and figuring out how the animation stuff works.

one of my guilty pleasures, yugioh go rush, just finished, and i can't believe they made me tear up a little by simply playing every single opening and ending song they've had over the past 3 years. i mean you do it with one of them as a classic move and it's like 'yay' and then they kept doing it

oh no, I got too into a project, forgot to eat all day and now it's 6am somehow?

it's fun constantly teaching yourself new creative skills, do recommend

you know, i really should check out what the thing on clearance is before I buy it. picked up some vegan chicken fingers the other day and only noticed today that they were 'original pringles flavored' which meant they just kinda had an old potato chip taste.
