As it's Halloween, YWCA Peterborough Haliburton reminds that your choice of costume doesn't give anyone the right to violate your boundaries. A costume does not equal consent! Whatever activities you participate in today, remember, no one gets to use that as an excuse to ignore rules of consent.

This month, donations were provided to the women and children we serve: new clothes, toys, crafts and games, toiletries, soap, shampoo, conditioner, holiday food, jewelry, entertainment. Want to make a difference? Donations can be dropped off to 216 Simcoe St. Tuesday–Friday, 9:00am–4:30pm.

This week, we’re thinking about all those who have reached out to us for support. Did you know that in 2024-2025 alone, 2,926 support and crisis calls were received at our Crossroads shelter and HERS safe space? We want to know, when’s the last time you asked for help from your community?

For this first Feel Good Friday post, we want to take the time at the end of the week to remind you that you are deserving of safety, security and love. No matter who you are, no matter where you are on your journey, you are worthy of kindness. Take a moment today to celebrate how far you’ve come!
