So I’m in the middle of my first replay of Three Houses and I’m a little surprised to find that I still prefer Engage. But it honestly feels like comparing apples and oranges. They both have such different vibes and it seems so clear they intentionally chose to focus on different aspects.

Been challenging myself to adhere to perma death during my replay of the Tellius Fire Emblem games instead of instantly starting the chapter over like I normally do… And this is BRUTAL, my anxiety ain’t cut out for it 😭

I moved right on to Radiant Dawn after Path of Radiance and I forgot about this insane difficulty spike. Radiant Dawn is brutal - takes absolutely no prisoners.

2025 Game Completion #6: Fire Emblem Path of Radiance This game has easily solidified itself as one of my favorites of all time. Combat is incredible, story is fantastic, soundtrack is so much better than I remembered. Any Fire Emblem fan needs to give this one a shot. Rating: 10/10 Hours: 48

It’s been at least 5 years since I did my last playthrough of FE: Path of Radiance so I wondered how I would receive it this time. I was instantly reminded why I love this game. Story is great, BIG fan of the battle mechanics, maps are clever and challenging. It’s a must play for any SRPG fan.

Been craving some Fire Emblem and have been wanting to do a Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn marathon for a while now… So it’s time 😤 (It’s also the first time that I’m gonna make use of my little retro setup!)

I wanted to jump back into Tales of Graces this morning, but alas, it’s still impossible for me to get back into a JRPG after being away from it for awhile I get overwhelmed and feel like I forget everything, so it’s always just easier for me to start over May help explain the absurd backlog 😅

2025 Game Completion #5: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team Never got through this as a kid, so I’m glad I had the chance and I ended up having more fun with it than I thought! Definitely clunky at times and a slow start, but once it picked up steam I was locked in. Rating: 8/10 Hours: 38

2025 Game Completion #4: Mario & Luigi: Brothership Honestly, this fell a bit flat. Still had a good time with it overall, but I felt there were just so many pacing issues. Battle animations, long story, battle plug mechanic, LOAD TIMES - just too much slogging it down. Rating: 7.5/10 Hours: 62

Also, whoever thought this was a good idea for an island deserves the electric chair.

I’ve been getting back into Mario and Luigi Brothership post Pokémon bender and man, this game’s pacing is just all over the place. I enjoy it - but the story going on for way longer than it needs to, the load times, the forced battle animations, and the battle plugs…it just feels like a slog.

Okay, I need help. How do y’all feel about this bookshelf? There’s days I love and then there’s days I want to completely strip it and try something new.

2025 Game Completion #3: Pokémon Platinum It’s been a hot minute since I’ve played Platinum and I really forgot just how much I enjoy it. Sinnoh is one of my favorite regions to navigate and I’m a huge fan of the dex, story, and the challenge. Peak Pokémon for sure. Rating: 9/10 Hours: 80

I’m sorry, no one will ever be able to convince me that Gen 4 wasn’t peak Pokémon. The region, the dex, the story, the intro of the special/physical split, an amazing remaster, a good amount of actual challenge? Perfection.

Now that I remembered to heal… They absolutely ate her UP! Another proud father moment 😭 Another one down and I think that’s end of my little Pokémon bender until Legends Z-A.

Okay we MAY have lost BUT that was only because I didn’t get a chance to heal before the fight. The rest of the rooms let you enter and the battle doesn’t start until you talk to the Elite 4 member. But Cynthia? Nah, she said it’s on sight and jumped the hell out of me 😭

My children are about to annihilate Cynthia 😤

This may be unpopular, but I despise catching any kind of legendary Pokémon. It’s not fun to me at all, so I honestly glance over it most of the time. Sure, let me get you to 1HP, put you to sleep, and STILL throw 50+ Ultra Balls at you to get you to settle the hell down? It’s excruciating 😩

2025 Game Completion #2: Pokémon Sun I was so surprised with this replay! I always thought I didn’t like this Gen, but it’s been a HOT minute since my first playthrough. Not the biggest fan of the Trial structure, but the dex, story, and overall vibe of Alola is fantastic Rating: 8.5/10 Hours: 60
