Alright, a tiny update, we've added a basic shop so you can buy parts for repair. This isn't a huge feature addition but important nonetheless for the workbench rewrite. Repairs will require preparing items before being able to start. We're 2 tasks away from the actual repair game! #gamedev #repair

While i was working on @kit-fix.it i suddenly had the urge to check some statistics on the project. Turns out we're at roughly 243 classes, with a total of 7000 lines of self-written code actively used during Runtime. We're maybe 60% done with the first Milestone/Skeleton build. I'm so excited :D

Okay so apparently some guy ‘vibe coded’ an App using an AI chat-agent, and it lied to him on many occasions, created fake reports on unit tests, ignored instructions for a code freeze and it ended with the AI *deleting the entire projects database* because “it panicked”

Kit Fix-it will be getting some Core gameplay adjustments soon, i’m sure you guys will like what we came up with. The best part is it will cut our development time to a playtest massively, and it gives us lots of freedom for the repair scenarios. Stay tuned! Things are getting interesting :D

Rate my play lol

This was 6 weeks of agonizing "should i really pattern match this interface"-headaches and lots of "let's extract this player feature into a component instead". And visually almost nothing changed. Man, that's #gamedev for ya. But it IS working, which is awesome. I'm happy.

** Next Update! ** Interaction system overhaul is pretty much done!! Here's a tiny changelog: + Player can now be spawned and is not scene dependent anymore + Player will be reset to the spawn point when the day starts + Player now uses a state machine to block unwanted interactions 1/4

Update; the C: drive gave up its life entirely, this was a REALLY close call. The drive was unable to write, but i was able to read and backup the files just yesterday evening. This morning it stopped working entirely. Crazy stuff man

My C: hard drive partially died yesterday, but i was able to save everything thanks to my Linux install on a secondary drive. I recommend fallback systems. I was even able to install steam and play games from my steam library hdd while copying files.

It’s almost time

Working towards a new showcase video for Kit Fix-it. I’ve entirely reworked and improved the interaction system the past few weeks. There’s still a lot to do but we’re getting there.

Do you guys miss my drawings? I‘ve probably gotten very rusty, urgh. Sadly i can‘t focus on it right now, there’s a lot of work to do. It’s okay though, eventually there’ll be art again. Maybe i‘ll draw just a little, soon.

Been working on @kit-fix.it again! There’s slow but steady progress on the assembly repair game mechanics. In the meantime i also cleaned up some old code. You can inspect workbenches so far and they can hold items. I‘ll update you once there‘s more to show visually.

Just got some feedback on the topology. It’s has a bunch of issues, so i‘m reworking it, and i will also tackle some concerns with the flow, shorten some clothes so the bones can bend easily, add more floof maybe. All in all, i will have to take my time, but it will be worth it, promise.

Retopo done! Now onto UV then normal mapping and texturing. It’s been really fun so far and definitely a good challenge.
