Madwort (Alyssum sp, most likely alyssoides)

I always love seeing cacti when Im out in the field. This one is less common than prickly pear and that makes it a nice treat. Im pretty sure its Echinocereus viridiflorus, the nylon hedgehog cactus

Some good wildlife from my trip to the finger lakes

I recently got to travel through the finger lakes in New York and I couldn’t simply walk past the non-native and #invasive species I saw. You’ll have to excuse the blurriness though.

Got to visit Devil’s Tower recently. This view is from a trail I had not been on before and I’m glad I stumbled upon it!

Our study published in Biological Invasions quantifies the negative effects of invasive plants on bird diversity. We found that herbaceous invasives and those with non-endozoochoric dispersal significantly decrease bird richness and abundance. Full paper here: link.springer.com/article/10.1...
