The US April 2 tariffs are a clear example of #economiccoercion violating the PIL principle of #nonintervention. While states should consider whether it is in their interest to further escalate with countermeasures, if they decide to do so, they could adopt the #EU’s approach developed under #ACI.

In the context of #Canada’s #countermeasures, it would be interesting to see what justification it will use under intl’ law. Would it adopt an approach similar to the EU’s reflected in its #Anti-CoercionInstrument, arguing that it is allowed to take action against economic coercion?
