Five years ago, Atlanta ranked 51st in the nation for park access. Today, we’ve reached our best-ever finish: 21st out of 100 cities. That kind of progress doesn’t happen by accident… it happens when a city believes every resident deserves access to nature, to community, to joy. Proud of Atlanta.

It was great celebrating Georgia Film Day last week with our Office of Film, Entertainment & Nightlife! The film and TV industry is such a huge part of what makes Atlanta special—bringing jobs, creativity, & excitement to our city. Three of the seven biggest films of 2024 were shot right here in GA!

Your Moving Atlanta Forward dollars at work! In conjunction with the Upper Westside CID, Atlanta, we’ve got a new connection! The Spur Trail is officially open, bridging the gap between our Upper Westside and Downtown with a .73-mile path AND we finished it six months ahead of schedule.

February has been Love Your Park month, and Atlanta, we showed up for our greenspaces in the best way! Powered by Park Pride, the Department of Parks & Recreation, Hands On Atlanta, and Trees Atlanta, this initiative brought communities together to give back to the parks that give so much to us.

Atlanta just got a little more electric! We cut the ribbon on a brand-new EV and fresh EV chargers at the City Hall parking deck—because even our rides should keep up with the city’s energy! These additions are part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and a cleaner, greener future for ATL.

My first week in officer, the Deputy COO (now COO) & I discussed the city’s biggest challenges—Fire Station 22 was one of them. Talked about since '09, but never built. We got it done. Now open, Fire Station 22 means faster response times, safer communities, & stronger emergency support for Atlanta.

Atlanta’s nightlife and entertainment industry is stronger than ever after an incredible Training Day at The Eastern! Alongside the Mayor’s Office of Film, Entertainment, and Nightlife and AEG Presents, we brought together business owners, industry professionals, and community leaders for training.

Recently, I had the privilege of attending the nsoro Educational Foundation’s 2025 Starfish Ball at the St. Regis Atlanta, and it was truly an unforgettable evening. From the Mardi Gras-themed celebration to the inspiring performances by nsoro scholars, every detail felt special.

Our young people deserve spaces where they can dream big and thrive, and I couldn’t be more excited to share that the Martin Luther King Jr. Esports Computer Lab is officially open in the heart of downtown!

Big things are happening for Atlanta’s senior citizens! Recently, we broke ground on the John A. White Golf and Senior Activity Center off Cascade Rd!
