Ok so outside my hotel window is a very narrow walkway and there’s another building like 2 feet away that looks to be either undergoing renovations or a set piece for a found footage horror movie. Not sure how I’m supposed to sleep. (The light is coming from my room - I took this from my window.)

The hotel’s separate cafe is pretty precious but it smells amazing and they’re playing The Cocteau Twins, so I honestly am quite content.

ADULT. is not coming to Boston, so today I'm traveling to Baltimore to see them (for what might be my 20th time? pretty close?). I opted Baltimore on Saturday over Brooklyn on Sunday because it's actually quicker, cheaper, and less of a hassle. Also, Baltimore is cool.

I get compliments on my nails but this the first time I’ve gotten a compliment for a *manicure* — which, I do it myself — so that was nice to hear.

15 years ago this week, I moved to Philly. (And came back 7.5 years ago.) I miss it so much!

I worked for Houghton Mifflin for 22 years; last night went to a publishing social hour and talked to a few colleagues still in the biz — it’s really something to realize that I witnessed firsthand the slow demise and sinking of a once mighty company. (It was still independent when I started).

I’m sitting on a seat on the Green Line and the heater is on underneath so my butt is toasty warm and it’s pleasant.
