Just back from a recent trip to Berlin and Dresden. Absolutely brilliant. Here’s a photo of their National Galerie in Berlin 💙

One of my favourite Van Dyck’s. I found myself lost in this work and wasn’t quite sure why but by filling the horizontal canvas it brings the scene closer to us as if we are part of the unfolding tragedy. I love this composition. Photos I took at The KMSKA Antwerp circa 1640.

Michelangelo lived in the household of Gianfrancesco Aldovrandi in Bologna in 1494, he was only 19 when he fled Florence. The tomb of St Dominic was, and still is one of the city’s most important pilgrimage sites. His angel Candelabrum is one of his sweetest works. 💙
