What a pleasure to present and discuss the #AntiDop project to Prof Ilka Seidel from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the German Olympic Sports Confederation.

Kasia Janiszewska, Anneke Palsma and Serge Pieters from the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) presented the #AntiDop project at the International Sport & Exercise Nutrition Conference (ISENC) 2025 in Manchester, UK.

Professor Vassilis Barkoukis visited the Department of Life and Health Sciences at Frederick University, Cyprus, to introduce the #AntiDop project to students. Together, they explored the project’s research findings and discussed how these insights can inform evidence‑based training practice.

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki team presented the #AntiDop project to coaches, trainers, and fitness instructors in Thessaloniki. Participants showed great interest in the research findings, and together we explored their practical implications for everyday training.

Professor Vassilis Barkoukis presented the #AntiDop project in Athens during the 15th ICCE Global Coach Conference. A sincere thank you to the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) for hosting our project!

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki team presented the #AntiDop project at the 5th International Conference of Sport Sciences in Thessaloniki. Their presentation sparked an engaging exchange on the use of nutritional supplements – and won 3rd prize in the conference’s poster competition. 🏆

We’re still looking back at our #AntiDop meeting in Malta 🇲🇹! After the hard work, there was also time to enjoy the sights of Valletta. Many thanks to our host, Dr Ladislav Petrovic, Director of Sport Coaching Europe, the European body of the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE).

At our recent #AntiDop project meeting in Malta 🇲🇹, we made great progress in developing our educational materials for coaches, parents, and medical staff. These materials will focus on anti-doping in relation to athletes’ use of nutritional supplements.

Last week, the #AntiDop project held its second in-person meeting in Malta 🇲🇹, hosted by Sport Coaching Europe – the European body of the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) – at #MCAST. We were warmly welcomed by Ann Marie Cassar, Director of the Institute of Community Services.

Dr Vassilis Barkoukis met with Daniel Enăchescu, Vice Mayor of Bucharest (Sector 3), to present the #AntiDop project and discuss opportunities for local collaboration in promoting clean sport.

Dr Vassilis Barkoukis (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) presented the #AntiDop project to social science researchers at the National University of Physical Education and Sport Science in Bucharest. Following a productive exchange, the university agreed to promote our project to its students.

Dr Vassilis Barkoukis (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) presented the #AntiDop project to the researchers of the Asociata Se Poate in Bucharest. Following a fruitful discussion, Asociata Se Poate will endorse the project and promote it in Romania.

At the end of October, our project members Ria Vanderstraeten, Anneke Palsma, and Sousana Papadopoulou presented the #AntiDop project at EFAD Congress in Malmö, Sweden. 🇸🇪 Thanks for sharing our work on “Educating Athlete Support Personnel to Prevent Unintentional Doping from Supplements”!

In September, @anne-marieelbe.bsky.social presented the AntiDop project at the dvs-Hochschultag 2025 – Sportwissenschaftlicher Hochschultag der Deutschen Vereinigung für Sportwissenschaft – at @uni-muenster.de.

The AntiDop project took centre stage at Leipzig University’s five-year anniversary celebration of the Master’s programme in Sport and Exercise Psychology.

In February, our partners met in Thessaloniki for the #AntiDop kick-off. In a short video, our project partner, Dr Susana Papadopoulou, outlines the project's objectives. Dr Papadopoulou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at the International Hellenic University.

Doping is a global phenomenon. However, not all athletes violate doping rules by intention. Unintentional violations may be caused by a lack of knowledge, contaminated supplements, or medical treatments.  For example, Nutritional Supplements come in various forms and contain many ingredients. [1/6]
