I watched the Mando trailer and... sigh.

Finally watched PREDATOR: BADLANDS and Patrick Aison and Dan Trachtenberg are two for two!

My prediction is that by 2040, 90% of art will indicate that "This process was partially assisted by the use of AI," even when the majority of the process was generated by AI. And people will just accept it and go back to eating their dollar menu meals, which is all they will be able to afford.

Maybe that Mando & Grogu spot would have gone over better if it didn't look like some ad agency's D-Team made it.

The kidnapping of Savannah Guthrie's mother doesn't make sense to me. Why would someone do this if they didn't know her? She's not famous. Her daughter is sort of famous? Either it's someone she knew, or just a random crime that went wrong. Either way, I can't imagine it has a good outcome.

Episode 4 of #StarTrekAcademy was an instant classic. Too bad some people bailed on the show after reading the lamest comments on the Internet, then watched 5 minutes of episode 1, and then claimed they watched all of it before deciding they hated it.

Good news for Lucasfilm with the new Disney team. CEO wants company presidents to have more control. And the CCO is known for making tough decisions, but also smart decisions. Nothing but positives for me.

The only new (ish at this point) Star Trek show I never got fully onboard with was Discovery. So, it's a surprise to me (I normally ignore the rabid negative response from the usual fuckheads anyway) how much I'm enjoying Starfleet Academy.

Watched the first episode of #StarTrek #StarfleetAcademy & while the start felt a bit... meh, the vibe once we were with the Academy characters was fun. Feels very much like it was inspired by the vibes in the first JJ Abrams Trek. And I'm good with that.

If the ICE officer who killed Renee Good was struck by her vehicle, it's because he put himself in its path & stood there to point his gun. While stupid, it would make the first shot legal. But there is a big problem if the shot missed. Next 2 shots were after the car passed him. That's murder.

Finally saw Avatar 3 in the theater. Solid. Looking at the box office, it may make $1.6 billion worldwide (unless some overseas regions perform higher than expected). That's a sizeable difference from Avatar 2, though that movie had 13 years between films, whereas this one only had 3.

10 years later, The Force Awakens is still my favorite Star Wars movie (Andor being my favorite Star Wars anything). I don't care if it's not "original" or if it "borrows" from the OT, or if it has "another Death Star"--strike that, it's the one thing I don't love. It's so well-made & a great cast.
