Day 30: I’ve been considering giving the OG FF7 another run through. So very likely that! This was a fun challenge, and I’m glad I forced myself to do all 30 days. Final Fantasy as a series has always been a comfort for me, and its stories and characters have made an impact on my life.

Day 29: I want to see a ff6 remake or the Schrödinger’s FF9 remake finally materialize.

Day 28: Favorite Title card art is ff7. It says a lot by being simplistic. It’s both the planet and the falling meteor stylistically. Which I think is brilliant.

Day 27: I've played All the mainline games. Beaten Most of them. I haven't branched off into many of the secondary titles, but the few I've played they were enjoyable also.

Introduce yourself with the name your parents almost gave. Had I been born a girl, my name was going to be Stephanie Lynn. My mother was a major Fleetwood Mac fan. I bet you can guess what my last name was. 😆

Day 26: Most difficult boss fight is EASILY Lady Yunalesca. I've seen just about everyone else doing this challenge say her or Seymour Flux. The ability to zombify/full raise, or insta-death anyone not zombified therefor making healing challenging was ridiculous.

Ngl.. that black screen with a ticking clock was such a fakeout for that mermaid mystery game. Square Enix is such a cunt. 😆 Give us that Chrono Trigger remake/remaster.

Day 25: is a toss up between the WoB of FF6, and Gaia from FF9. Both are a perfect mix of tech and sword and sorcery.

Day 24 Worst Minigame is Tetra Master. After the universal adoration that was triple triad in ff8, they release this abomination in ff9. It’s a 4x4 grid with random sections blocked out, cards that have no discernible values, and no in game rules that explain said values. It’s just awful.

Day 23: Favorite Minigame is the chocobo breeding/racing of ff7. I’ve always been fond of animal raising in video games, and being able to create different chocobos with different travel abilities that leads to tangible rewards was extremely fun!

Day 22: Final fantasy most played is either 6 or 7. Honestly don’t know at this point. Both are so enjoyable and the comfort food of games for me.

Day 21: Favorite Armor Design. This one was hard, as I wasn’t sure if it was just armor or a characters “outfit.” So, I’ll mention a few I think I look good. Edge, Vincent, Lulu, and G’raha Tia.

Day 20: Favorite story is FF6. Halfway through a resistance vs empire story, the heroes lose so hard the world is destroyed and everyone is scattered to the winds. Then you have to start as what was originally a secondary character, find everyone, help them find a reason to fight again.

Day 19: Favorite supporting character is would be Byron Rosfield. He was so charming and truly loved his nephews. As for other side characters for honorable mentions: Beatrix, and General Leo.

Day 18: Favorite Sequel/Remake/Spin off - The FF7R trilogy. Sure, tactics, ffx-2, etc can have honorable mention nods. I’ve just been super impressed by the depth and polish remake and rebirth have had. Hopefully we get some part 3 info soon! I neeeeed it!

Day 17: Favorite Soundtrack is FF14. Hands down. I have multiple favorite tracks from ARR to Dawntrail. I’ll probably have more with the next expansion. Soken is a musical genius and I cannot be dissuaded. 😁

Day 16: Favorite Summon/Spell is Ifrit. I like how they started designing him more bestial and less human as the series went on.

My husband and I did Ancestry DNA tests before Christmas. The results recently came back. See, I never knew my paternal side or even who my Dad was. I do now. Of course he and his parents and most of his siblings are dead now. So, I’ve got lots of unanswered questions I have to sit with. 🙃

Day 15: Favorite Boss Fight is the Materia Keeper from OG FF7. It’s memorable, because the very first time I fought it, It stomped my ass. I barely had a grasp of the games systems, and it took me a few tries and some grinding to finally beat it.

Day 14: Favorite Summoner is: Me! I know, controversial, but my character Cedric has been maining as a Summoning for multiple expansions of Final Fantasy XIV by this point. I could have said Yuna, Eiko, Garnet, or Rydia.. but, getting to actually "BE" the role myself, I'm going with that. 😁

Day 13: Favorite Black Mage is Vivi. He just is iconically “the” Black Mage. From the pointy hat to the blue coat, and the glowing yellow eyes.

Day 12: Favorite White Mage is Minwu from ff2. White Mage’s are either generally presented as female or folded into another job (generally summoner) like Eiko and Garnet from FFIX or Yuna from FFX. He was pure, old school D&D Cleric.

Day 11: Favorite Dragoon character is Estinien Varlineau from FFXIV. Starting off as a side character in the low level dragoon job quests, he graduated up to full character during Heavensward and still pops in to this day when needed. Amazing character growth and development.

Day 10: Favorite job/class is probably Summoner. It’s pretty much become the “iconic” class of the series, second only to the Dragoon.

I don’t know if it’s just the weird media bubbles I frequent, but Xenogears keeps popping up and it’s making me want to play it. Do I dig out my old systems to play it, or find a ✨creative✨ solution. 🤨

Day 9: Favorite Battle system is Final Fantasy X’s. Having access to every party member at any given time was phenomenal. Need to steal something, swap in your thief. Need to heal? Swap in the healer.

Day 7: Favorite job system is FFXIV. (I would say Tactics, but I’m sticking to mainline titles.) I’ve leveled every job to max level, and continue to do so every new expansion and level increase. Doing so teaches me how each one plays and interacts with the others. Makes me a better player overall.

Day 6: Anabella Rosfield. I. 👏 HATED. 👏 THIS. 👏 BITCH!! 👏 Even to this day, when I see her smug face it causes me a visceral reaction. If anyone has played FFXVI, they know it has dark themes. This “see you next Tuesday” dialed it all up to 11 and broke the knob off.

Day 5: Sephiroth. I know it’s cliche, but he just checks all the boxes for me. In the OG his lore and motivations were vague at best. However, with all the extended universe/remake stuff, he has depth and reason. Plus, who doesn’t love a bishonen boy with long silver hair? Lol

Day 4: Cecil Harvey. Out of all the characters, they literally show and tell his character growth from Dark Knight to Paladin.

I’m kind of amazed that guerrilla tactics haven’t been employed against ICE. A handful of caltrops under a vehicle, drops of ipecac in food, etc. Little, untraceable sabotages. Besides the filming and yelling, destruction by a thousand little “unfortunate” events that never end.

Day 3: Gonna have to go with 12. It was such a departure from every past precedent. You could literally delete the main character Vaan, and the entire thing could easily continue. Gameplay was awful, as you could basically have it play itself.

Day 2: Same as the first - FFVI. It has a charming cast of characters, and basically two mains. Terra for the WoB and Celes for the WoR. The fact that the main antagonist actually “wins” midway through, scatters the cast, and you have to re-find everyone again in a destroyed world is *chef’s kiss.”
