A moving annual tribute this morning at the Glasnevin cemetery to the Irish who died in France and an hommage also paid to Dr Liam O Briain, chevalier de la Légion d’honneur & great promoter of the cultural links between 🇮🇪 & 🇫🇷 whose deeds were efficiently brought back to light by Dr Oliver O’Hanlon.

I was honoured to attend the National Day of Commemoration ceremony in Limerick yesterday alongside Minister Kieran O'Donnell. The ceremony was presided over by Príomh Chomhairleoir Cllr Catherine Slattery and supported by members of the 12th Infantry Battalion of the Defence Forces… 1/2

Merci to Comdt Fergal Carroll & his band members. The French tricolour was proudly raised by Thomas Sheehan (French Foreign Legion Association of 🇮🇪).
