It was an honour to join Consul General Anne Wagner-Mitchell yesterday at Queen’s Park for the flag raising in celebration of the Day of German Unity. This anniversary marks Germany’s reunification and reminds us of the shared values of freedom, democracy, and unity.

On October 21 the Kanata-Hazeldean Lions Club and partners are hosting a Diabetes Education and Screening Day at 170 Castlefrank Road from 1 to 5 pm. Free diabetes screening, nutrition and activity resources, and community support will be available.

This morning, I was honoured to join MPs Jenna Sudds and Bruce Fanjoy, Councillor Clarke Kelly, and our friends at Makatew Workshops for the Truth and Reconciliation Ceremony at the Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum. A lasting reminder that reconciliation begins with truth and listening.
