I had the privilege this week of attending the Academic Consortium on Criminal Justice Health. It was an amazing opportunity to learn from criminologists, physicians, community health workers, epidemiologists, activists, etc. I took notes so fast that my handwriting made me look like a real doctor.

Last week, the Capital University Law Review held its first Works-in-Progress Symposium, which gave students the opportunity to present their work and receive feedback. It always delights me to see students explore their interests with intellectual curiosity and openness.

I like covering Homicide in October (spooky season) and Group Criminality just before the holidays (togetherness).

Intro: I'm a prof at Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio, teaching classes with "Crim" in the title. I write on punishment and have been focusing on monetary sanctions in the criminal system lately. I think about cycles of poverty and criminal punishment. I love cats.
