So Vladimir Putin promises that Russia will never attack Europe and that he's even willing to give this guarantee in writing. This is so very reassuring....

Oh the chutzpa: Putin invades Ukraine in a blatant violation of international law. Then, after four years of war, he demands that Ukraine give up some more of its territory for the war to end....I have a revolutionary idea: how about Russia withdraws it's troops from the territory or it's neighbour?

So as the US are adjusting their "Ukraine Peace Plan" & Trump himself says that this is “not my final offer”, Viktor Orban suggests that “the Europeans must immediately and unconditionally support the US initiative”. Orban is more Trumpian than Trump himself. If this weren't sad, I would be funny.

Reassuring how a US President honors the fight the Ukrainian people are putting up day after day against the ruthless attacks of an aggressor (quote ex @financialtimes.com)

So the US President calls on Ukraine to quickly 'accept the US-Peace Plan'. Then a group of Senators announces after a call with M. Rubio that there is no plan, just a leaked 'Russian wishlist'. Which is then refutet by Rubio, yes there is a US-Plan. Clearly a group of professionals at work here...

So, just to recap: - Europe negotiates a weak transatlantic trade deal because "it depends on the US for its defense" - And now, when core European defense issues are at stake, Europe isn't even consulted while lavish rewards are offered to the aggressor next door About time to get real, Europe!

And I guess that's why Prime minister Netanyahu signed on to the Trump Peace Plan that talks about "a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood"..... Go figure.

On Ukraine, President Trump indeed looks more and more like a foreign policy muppet. He organizes summit meetings, announces deadlines, issues threats etc., etc. - and nobody gives a hoot.....

Lavrov is partially right. The last "election" Vladimir Putin "won" was neither free nor fair given how political opponents were imprisoned and others were prevented from running against him. So there are serious questions of legitimacy - on the side of Russia!

President Trump three days ago: "When it comes to security, there's going to be a lot of help". Pentagon top official yesterday in a call with European military leaders: "The US plans to play a minimal role in any Ukraine security guarantees". I guess that's what's called a reality check....

Not sure where this will all end up. But from what could be observed during the public part of this meeting, that was a strong performance by team Europe 👏! 🇨🇵🇩🇪🇮🇹🇬🇧🇫🇮🇳🇱🇺🇦🇪🇺 #StandWithUkraine

If this it's what's put on the table (not only accepting the loss of territory, but on top of it ceding unoccupied territory!) it would be an utter disaster. The aggressor is generously rewarded, the victim pushed to the brink. Subjugation seems like the right word for this....
