On Ukraine, President Trump indeed looks more and more like a foreign policy muppet. He organizes summit meetings, announces deadlines, issues threats etc., etc. - and nobody gives a hoot.....

Lavrov is partially right. The last "election" Vladimir Putin "won" was neither free nor fair given how political opponents were imprisoned and others were prevented from running against him. So there are serious questions of legitimacy - on the side of Russia!

President Trump three days ago: "When it comes to security, there's going to be a lot of help". Pentagon top official yesterday in a call with European military leaders: "The US plans to play a minimal role in any Ukraine security guarantees". I guess that's what's called a reality check....

Not sure where this will all end up. But from what could be observed during the public part of this meeting, that was a strong performance by team Europe 👏! 🇨🇵🇩🇪🇮🇹🇬🇧🇫🇮🇳🇱🇺🇦🇪🇺 #StandWithUkraine

A US-administration that sides with Putin's Russia, a US-envoy who sounds like the Kremlin spokesman. Still hard to believe, but a sad reality. All the talk about "maybe we'll provide some additional arms" is just that: talk. Time for Europe - all NATO fawning apart - to wake up and act accordingly

Russia has escalated from the very beginning of this war, it wants to destroy Ukraine/its people which it doesn’t even acknowledge as a nation. So how on earth can defence against such an existential threat be escalation (also legally, the scale of the attack is the yardstick for proportionality)

I think that's what was once called 'vodoo economics'.....

This will surely help to make the United States a very attractive destination for young foreign students!
