As a member of a 911 service, I have to take First Aid responder training yearly. I had oft wondered how I would react in a true emergency. Today I had to perform CPR on an elderly man who had a massive heart attack at the diner I was having lunch at. It took Fire - Rescue 11 mins to respond.

Well, one more coached one on one in the books pre Montreal. Lotsa crossover and transition drills, and done on purpose with skates not laced up all the way. That makes you really have to work on getting every edge and weight transfer "on the money". Stronger every day! #PuckingMutts

Been a really chill, mellow sort of Friday off. My legs are sore from yesterday's thrash of transition drills, but ina a good way. Coffee with Bailey's creamer is going down smooth, as is jazz on the stereo. Missing the pup, but relaxed knowing he's ok and upbeat. Life's good today.

Saying goodbye from Rouge Hill as the train rolls away. He's such a good pup. Proud of him. I hope I'm a good enough Dad doggo sometimes. :)

And now it's relax time. Gonna hop on a train in a bit and meet my Pup for a nice patio lunch on a very pretty fall day. Maybe it's time to embrace the grey here.....maybe...

Reached out to my coach for a one on one session this week. He's a hoot. Replied with "Yep! Season's coming up man, gotta get you ready to wing with Matthews!". Gonna be my best self at the tournament in October. My legs are gonna burn tho! #puckingmutts

The Pup is off home, and I'm chilling post skate. Won't lie, I just choked up with tears. Missing him more than I thought. Our weekend was Friday and Saturday together and it went past like lightning. He's not mine by biology, but by chosen family. Calling me his Dad doggo is the highest honor. :)

Today was all about airplanes with the Pup. It was a fun day!

Watching some Ted talks on Managing Compassionate Caregiving burnout. My elderly parents are wearing me down into dust with their declining health, continual bickering, poor moods, along with my Dad's denial of reality regarding driving at 93. I might as well be an only child as my brother do zero.

This is week two of vacation. I'm so damn exhausted with parents care, that despite this being a free day, I'm so wiped out I don't know what to do with myself. Originally I had friends visiting, and some other stuff planned. Plans change, things fade. Maybe just snooze in the hammock all day.

Just realized this morning that I will have a lot of hockey on tap this fall - winter. Saturday morning Powerskating @ Canlan. Saturday afternoon league with @ Hamilton Queer Hockey. Sunday morning powerskating @ City of Brampton Tuesday evening league @ True North Hockey Blaming Shep and Crash!

So my True North team is reassembling this fall and both my C and my goalie reached out to see if I would come back for another season. I was pretty shocked as I wouldn't have thought myself that valuable or memorable. Gonna be a lot of hockey this winter for old doggo!

Good morning everyone! Enjoying the late August vacation here at Playa del Backyard!

Spent the day with my pup Kodi, hoping to cheer him up a bit. We found a fantastic cafe for gluten free, and walked along the beach for several hours. I try pretty hard to be "Dad doggo" for him. I think today he realized he is worthy of care and Love. Good day for both of us. I'm grateful.

Popped in to say hello to the Service manager at my friendly neighborhood Ford store. Saw a couple new Broncos. The Heritage one was so on point. *drools* Just needs a couple of fender emblems that say "302 V-8" . Two tone dark green and white for me please.

I must confess too that, being single, I wonder what will happen to me when my time comes for all of this failing health stuff. No irons in the fire, and fading hope has me seeing a solo struggle. While the end is inevitable, being alone at that point is truly frightening.

Exhausted on day one of my vacation with caring for parents. I have newfound respect for social workers as a result. Getting Dad to his surgery, being beside him as much as possible, then getting him fed and home, along with Mom was wildly draining. Tonight was an edible and gaming.....now sleep

Couple hours away from end of shift and two weeks vacation!. Hoping to connect with folks and have some fun. Sadly all of my previous plans crumbled to dust, so plenty of room for new ones! Hot me up if you're in town or local, and want to get together!

Took the parents to lunch at a diner a short drive away. While helping them out of the car I noticed another guy my age doing same thing with his folks. Canes, walkers, all the same issues. Felt reaffirming that I'm doing right for my folks. Some days I have to dig deep, today was easy. :)

Now, who says you can't go back in time? Yeah, when that song, it comes on I'm on rewind and I'm seventeen again a 1972 Nova, the block party weekend on Eagle 106. The roar of a big block, gear whine of a Muncie, the warm muggy summer air of a PA night coming thru the windows at 75mph.

Any of my followers know which suit creators do horses? Thought about bringing Talbot horse, my alt, to life. I know BNC do lots of Caribous, everybody does canines, and some folks specialize in dragons. Kind of "out of the loop" as I haven't been super active at Cons of lately.

While my mental health is the best it's been ina long time, even a bad day on the ice can sink me. Even worse when friends are playing and I cascade into negative thoughts, making poor play after poor play. I wind up beating myself up inside over it, and want to give up. Today's rebound helped.

Yesterday was a really low day. Emotionally, everything hurt. My skate was embarrassing at best, and the day degraded from there. I really felt empty. Thankfully today's skate empowered me, and I feel better. Hopefully work will be quiet as I finish up 7 days in a row of afternoon shift.

Got in a late Saturday afternoon workout. Pretty happy with my efforts to date. Reliably pushing my body weight for bench press and back squats. Perhaps not spectacular, but a milestone for me.

It literally only took my sister in law 1 mean spirited comment to light me up at the BBQ. Her.."It's bad enough they need a Pride weekend, but now it's a month?? You don't see regular people Pride!!" Me. "That's the other 364 days of the year sweetie". Glad my Dad didn't hear any of the convo...

Glad the work week is almost wrapped up. Afternoon shift, world events , news cycles and a general feeling of fatigue has had me down for days. Hoping the weekend has brighter promise.

I absolutely hate being sick.... especially when I know patient zero is a selfish asshat. Living alone with no pets makes being homebound a very lonely proposition. 615pm and I'm still in pj's and a hoodie, not sure what to make for dinner. All my weekend social stuff that I value down the drain.
