Fabulous chat with my friend today she has Down’s syndrome and we met when I was volunteering at a performing arts day canteen for adults with learning disability or autism .She moved after I left but we’ve been having Zoom chats since lockdown

Look what I made I saw it on an instagram post last year and learned to knit so I could make myself one .my son and husband both want it now .sits the embrace octopus sweater .just love how the tentacles wind over the body and arm

You have to respect a virus that. Starts with a sore throat and cough which on day 2 you think you’ve got over only for it to return with a vengeance on day 3 .such a clever bugger presumably designed for maximum spread .headache to bad to read .a no read day I must be ill

So now it appears the very old woman has forgotten how to answer her mobile which is the way we check up on her every day .luckily one of the carers she will allow is visiting so hopefully a quick refresher will do otherwise we’ll have to go over yet again

I bought a beautiful unusual allium last summer on a visit to my sister’s in York .it stunk out the train carriage home with a strong garlic smell .its now on a pot and I’m thinking it may have to go to the end of the garden it’s stunk out my garden reading spot

Arguably my favourite day of the festive season the annual family theatre trip to London we’ve seen comedies and musicals in the past today it’s spectacle we are seeing the Hungar Games

My son goes for a run I watch him greedily envious of his youth .then I remember my one and only attempt at going for a jog when I was his age and reassure myself some people are not designed to run .Swimming however when I swim I can effortlessly out swim him even now

The only thing driving me in from my outside reading now is cold feet I have heated cushion a sitting suit and heated ear muffs and hand warmers .ive ordered some air activated feet warmers can anyone recommend a rechargeable option ?

Miraculously the very old woman was quite pleasant when we visited today with both grandsons .im so pleased to be home though all the driving is killing me my knees are so painful and swollen tonight and all I can think is that it’s the driving that has stirred it all up

So it seems I was right in demanding my 96 year old mother in law was seen today .she lived on her own but did the last 2 days hasn’t answered our daily phone call .her gp got my email after the phone appointment system failed and sent the Jet team to see her

My achievement for the day was a trip to the dump I mucked up bin day and with Xmas we had a mountain of cardboard packaging .something about a trip to the tip always makes me feel like I’m a superstar

Leaking boiler just what we need the week before Christmas.all the towels I had ready for guests now need washing and drying .baaaaa humbug
