As if filling out an annual employee evaluation for myself isn't annoying enough, I just spent an hour doing it only for the page to reload and delete everything when I tied to save my progress. Yaaay, I get to type it all up again.

Going to see Built to Spill tonight! I love that they've been playing in Charleston pretty regularly for the last 10 years or so. It's nice being able to see one of my favorite bands without having to travel out of state.

I'm ready to stop doing the thing where I think about having to take Sophie out and suddenly remembering she's gone.

I'm always amazed at the ability of TMBG to consistently put out great music. This album is to dig.

I'm not one to be sad on social media, but we lost our little gremlin Sophie a few days ago and it really sucks. I miss her a lot. I took this picture of her on the first day we got her in January 2017. She was already 7 years old and we somehow got to be with her for another 9. She was the best.

Ashley and I watched the YouTube edition of Jeopardy the other day and you have no idea how excited I was to see Derrick Comedy mentioned in a clue.

Am I the only one who kind of misses when websites would do silly redesigns and stuff for April Fool's Day? I remember Dragonball fansites were really into it; Temple O' Trunks had some especially fun ones.

I thought I could get through my life without ever having to go to a gender reveal party, but my wife's half-sister is having one today and we feel obligated to go because Family™.

I'm always baffled by the music selection in my local Walmart. In the past couple weeks I've heard both "Jesus is Just Alright" and Korn's cover of "Word Up" while shopping. Though I think the oddest thing was hearing the Bad Lip Reading song "SEAGULLS! (Stop it Now)" in the store some years ago.

I'm not a fan of Doctor Who at all, but I AM a fan of the quest to find all the missing episodes of the series. Always cool to hear about more episodes being rediscovered in some random guy's collection in a basement somewhere.

I was really hoping to see Gorillaz on the upcoming US tour, but holy crap the GA section is $200 per ticket. And those are the cheapest I'm seeing. This is ridiculous.

On the drive back to SC from Miami, we stopped at a record store in Jacksonville and I finally found a copy of Moms by Menomena on vinyl! Been looking for it for a while but it's hard to find for a decent price. The sleeve is kind of in rough shape, but it plays well and was only $10!

I meant to post some more about the Modest Mouse cruise, but I forgot...to sum it up, it was a lot of fun because it was like the best parts of a music festival without having to be out in a desert all day. Fewer bands, but more chances to see them because they all played multiple sets.

We paid for the cheaper wifi on the Modest Mouse cruise, which didn't allow for any kind of streaming. Also couldn't get on Bluesky for some reason? Facebook worked fine.

Was listening to Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too by The New Radicals and I doubt there's a better example of a band that really didn't deserve more than one big hit. The disparity in quality between "You Get What You Give" and the rest of the album is kind of impressive.

I never thought I'd get really into a midwest emo band, but I tagged along with Ashley to a Prince Daddy show a couple years ago and the opener Saturdays at Your Place pulled me in. Saw them headline in Atlanta last night and they were so good.

Just saw Ekko Astral opening for Jeff Rosenstock and PUP. They were pretty great!

Mountain Goats were fun, even though I only knew two songs! Also, I'm surprised I've never been to the Windjammer. Pretty decent, small outdoor venue.

Going to lots of shows this week! Cloud Nothings last Sunday, Mountain Goats tonight, and Jeff Rosenstock tomorrow.

Went to see Cloud Nothings open for Superheaven and ended up leaving 2 or 3 songs into Superheaven's set. They weren't bad, just... uninteresting. Cloud Nothings killed it though.

Work has been rough this morning, gotta crack open a cold one.
