The craziest thing about trying to buy a house right now is that people are allowed to use "AI enhanced" photos in their listings to just straight-up lie about the condition of the house.

You know a band is used to playing bigger venues in their home country when their stage backdrop is too big for their name to be fully visible at a headlining show in the US.

Speaking of Modest Mouse, the new album is decent but feels kind of all over the place, probably due to using multiple producers. Also maybe some of Isaac Brock's weakest lyrics at points. "Dogbed in Heaven/ Give It A Skeleton" and "Life's a Dream" are probably my favorite tracks.

Recently found out that my wife's mom is planning on selling her house (that we've been living in) by October so we have about 4 months to find a new place to live. Cooooool.

When I worked at the battery store, I once had to replace the fill valve for our toilet and one of my employees offered to do it as he didn't mind doing some "light plumbing." I've had to do the same at home a couple times now and always think of it as having to do some light plumbing.

I recorded a whole album of music that I'm really proud of but am waiting for my wife to help me come up with some cool cover art for it. Considering the age of some of the songs, I've technically been working on it for almost 20 years.

As if filling out an annual employee evaluation for myself isn't annoying enough, I just spent an hour doing it only for the page to reload and delete everything when I tied to save my progress. Yaaay, I get to type it all up again.

Going to see Built to Spill tonight! I love that they've been playing in Charleston pretty regularly for the last 10 years or so. It's nice being able to see one of my favorite bands without having to travel out of state.

I'm not one to be sad on social media, but we lost our little gremlin Sophie a few days ago and it really sucks. I miss her a lot. I took this picture of her on the first day we got her in January 2017. She was already 7 years old and we somehow got to be with her for another 9. She was the best.

Ashley and I watched the YouTube edition of Jeopardy the other day and you have no idea how excited I was to see Derrick Comedy mentioned in a clue.

I was really hoping to see Gorillaz on the upcoming US tour, but holy crap the GA section is $200 per ticket. And those are the cheapest I'm seeing. This is ridiculous.

On the drive back to SC from Miami, we stopped at a record store in Jacksonville and I finally found a copy of Moms by Menomena on vinyl! Been looking for it for a while but it's hard to find for a decent price. The sleeve is kind of in rough shape, but it plays well and was only $10!

I meant to post some more about the Modest Mouse cruise, but I forgot...to sum it up, it was a lot of fun because it was like the best parts of a music festival without having to be out in a desert all day. Fewer bands, but more chances to see them because they all played multiple sets.

Was listening to Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too by The New Radicals and I doubt there's a better example of a band that really didn't deserve more than one big hit. The disparity in quality between "You Get What You Give" and the rest of the album is kind of impressive.

I never thought I'd get really into a midwest emo band, but I tagged along with Ashley to a Prince Daddy show a couple years ago and the opener Saturdays at Your Place pulled me in. Saw them headline in Atlanta last night and they were so good.
