Picked up Dragon age Veilguard again for the first time in a while. Whole new OC. This is my first time playing a character with long hair. The hair physics in this game are something else.

Meet Annabelle (Anna) Harding. Rook took Lace's last name since everyone calls and introduces him as Rook all the time anyways. She looks more like her mother, although slightly taller, but she followed her father's path of a warrior/soldier. But her scouting skills rival her mother's 😉

He picked Bellara.

Yes she did. She thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of the hunts as well as seeing the different types of dragons there were.

My Hero of Fereldon is a straight man. Who fell hard in love with Morrigan.

Rook picked Davrin. And I'll pick Davrin every time. It suits the storyline more and Harding is my girl and I can't bring myself to do it. Assan is cute and all and yay griffons but he isn't enough of a factor to change my mind. They never find the bodies so you can't convince me they are dead.

Connor is a warrior who uses sword and board (sword and shield). He likes to be up close and personal with his enemies. He is incredibly aggressive, and almost always angry/in a bad mood. Given what happened to his family, that's fair.

Punched him in the face! He deserved so much worse, but they needed to tie the veil to someone. Solas did not deserve any of the sympathy he got. Or any redemption people might have argued he was worthy of. There are mistakes and bad choices and then there is everything Solas did. He Deserved worse!

Connor Cousland. Connor Is the name of my Larp character and my very first, and favorite, OC.

He is a silent, "stoic" and relaxed drunk. Most people cannot tell that he is even drunk at all. If he was a drink, he would be a cold foamy beer/ale. Maybe a scotch with ice.

Oh! Oghren for sure! Would love to see that dwarf again! Nathaniel or Sigrin & Velanna would be cool too... Well maybe not Velanna...

Honestly? He isn't a fan of it. Emmrich can gush and explain it all day, but Rook still doesn't care for it. He won't argue against Emmrich for using it. But he did convince Emmrich to not become a litch, partly for fred, partly because well... Just no. More to it but Bluesky only has so much space.

Not really. He came into the wardens a broken man. Alone. Everyone he had known was dead and gone. Most of them, including his uncle, died at the battle of Adamant. But he did have Evka and Antoine once he joined the Wardens.

Being of Nobility, she was tutored in many things. Singing and Dancing being among them. Two things she absolutely excelled in. But she also taught herself how to draw.

He was heartbroken. But he doesn't believe they would repeat it. The Wardens are not the same as they were 400 years ago. Having the griffons be extinct for so long will have a big impact on how they are treated. They are in good hands. But what was done to the Griffons must not be forgotten

I've played my canon Rook twice. And I've both fought and convinced her. But because of how I see my Rook, a little rough around the edges, the canon outcome was he fought her. He called her out for her BS and demanded she fix her mistakes. She didn't like that. Lace and Neve were with him.

I had the incredible pleasure to meet Ruth Connell on the weekend. As a fan of Supernatural, seeing a large amount of the cast at Fan Expo was really cool. But I could only afford to meet one, and it had to be her! She was so lovely and is absolutely gorgeous. #bestwitch #supernatural #ruthconnell

Rook met Verric a couple times when he was a soldier with the Inquisition. They talked and got along very well. When Verric recruited him years later to help with Solas they formed a pretty deep bond. Verric became like a mentor/father figure for him.

Despite how frustrating he is, he got his position because he was once a good man, and a good Warden. He is clearly not thinking straight and is scared and confused. Despite wanting to kick his ass, Rook talks him down and helps to bring him back to himself. He got to die as the man he used to be.

He was shifting constantly. He started out with the Grey Warden because he is a Grey Warden and he wanted to honor that part of himself. Then he changed it to the Dwarven decor because of Lace and wanting to be supportive of her and her culture. Then back to the original because it's simple.

It shouldn't be this hard to be okay. 😩😔

He was awed by it. And grateful for it. In that moment, when she fell, he watched his whole world vanish over that cliff. Then the magic saved her, brought her back to him. How could he not be grateful to it and supportive of it, of her. He encouraged her to embrace it and see it as a gift.

"wow. Okay... that's kinda cool!"

I have done both Neve and Harding. In my canon playthrough, he took Harding. He figured Neve could better handle the hoard of demons with her magic, given the barrier she had up when he first met her.

He has big insecurity issues so he has trouble with criticism. Constantly at war with himself feeling like he isn't good enough, or like he doesn't matter ect. It is something he is trying to overcome but it's a hard battle.

This one is hard. Like Lace, he wants to believe people are inherently good. He always tries to give people a chance to make up for their mistakes. He does not want to believe there comes a time when you have to admit someone is too far gone or refuses to change. But he has experienced it before.

Dragon age. I've had many games I have enjoyed and liked over the years, but nothing has had the impact on me that Dragon age has. All of them. They just hold this special place in my heart and mind no other game ever has.

I can't remember if there was a library in Haven, but she would spend most of her time there. Or she would spend her time in her room reading, or sitting in Josie's office, just reading well Josie worked. She would make excuses to spend time with Blackwall as well. Or hanging out with Lace Harding.

He has been known to call her Inky from time to time once she became inquisitor, but they spent a night in Haven talking once and she rambled on about how she loves the way the stars twinkle, so he started calling her Twinkles as well. He would use them interchangeably.

As a Warden, he has been told his death will be in the deep roads fighting darkspawn. Even after defeating the Elven gods, it's unsure if that will still end up being the Wardens fate or not. He would like to die of Old age after living a full life, raising kids and loving his wife, Lace Harding.

Meeting Lace. He met her once in the Inquisition. They spent a night talking in The Heralds Rest. He fell in love that night. But he didn't see her again until her and Varric recruited him to help find Solas years later. He fell in love all over again. And then when she returned those feelings.

DAO: Morrigan DA2: Isabella DAI: Blackwall DAV: Harding It was almost Sebastian over Isabella but umm.. the whole chaste thing was a problem 😅 I romanced Harding and Blackwall with the same Inquisitor, but since in Veilguard the Harding romance from Inquisition doesn't exist, I went with Blackwall

Besides her freckles? He loves her compassionate heart and her adventurous spirit. Her strength, her ability to see empathy as a strength and not a weakness. And how she can see people as inherently good despite the monstrous evil she has seen. He just loves everything about her.

She sided with the Templars. She believes the Templars are necessary. Neither the Templars or the Mages are 100% innocent in their actions. But she trusts the Templars more than she does the Mages. Look at Corypheus.. Mages are capable of terrible power.

She did not. She let Morrigan do it. Morrigan seemed to know more about it and she found Solas's attitude toward the whole thing suspicious and off putting. Then when Blackway dropped his "I can't lose you" line, she let Morrigan do it. She trusted Morrigan. She stands by her choice.

She has arrived!

He witnessed the fifth blight, and the death of his parents, when he was 12. After that he was raised by his uncle who was a mercenary who just took him around with him on all his jobs, so he saw some pretty upsetting things. Then up until the battle of Adamant fortress with the Inquisition.

Blackwall? Have you met the man? Tall, dark and mysterious!? He was a good man, whose ideals and beliefs matched hers a lot. He was strong, and honorable, gentle, but stern. She found herself drawn to him. The accent definitely didn't help either.

He suffers from PTSD. Which comes in the forms of nightmares. He has done and seen things that haunt him from time to time. But once he meets Lace, the nightmares come less frequently, but every once in a while he will get a bad one. Lace will wake him up and sit with him and help him through them.

Finally the twine file was sent out to the team. I was frustrated while working on DA2 and DA:I where team members had no idea what the narrative of the narrative-based game we were making was. It would lead to disjointed decisions being made completely divorced from the efforts of other teams.

You would need to accumulate enough trust with a certain number of factions, and/or progress enough of a companion's story line in order to advance the twine version of the game simulating the rough gating envisioned by designers and writers at the time. (This was a hugely collaborative effort).

So I did what no one asked for. You couldn't simply plow through the story. Side missions would become available on a cadence and would be assigned to numbers on a dice roll (a certain amount of variability in side content was planned in the early days of Veilguard).

Back to the Twine file. It was meant to emulate the flow of the narrative and broadcast that narrative out to the wider team. "Here's what we're trying to make." The challenge I put on myself was to reflect the narrative branching we intended to build.
