It was good to see some great mentoring going on this morning. One of our secondary pupils is training up his primary buddy to help him with the morning job of going round classes to check who’s in school. It looks like it was quite a lot of fun.

Aspen class have been focusing on biodiversity in the woods this term. They’ve been out investigating the different creatures that live there and the ways that they depend on one another. Last week they built a giant spider web to catch paper flies. #LfSEdinburgh

What an absolutely fabulous morning at Oaklands! What better way to start the day than by getting together and eating cake? Thank you to everyone who baked and bought. We raised a whopping £515.60 for Maggie’s. A big well done to Rowan class who organised the event.

Today is it all about our fabulous graduate Lady W. What a party we are having, with balloons, tartan, parachutes and dancing, as we send our wonderful friend into the big wide world.

What better way to start a Monday morning than with a carnival themed dance and drumming session in the hall led by Holly class? Holly class have been practising hard all year for this with help from Lindsey, our visiting dance teacher from KIC Dance studios. Well done to everyone that took part.

Becoming a senior pupil at Oaklands is definitely worth the wait. The DofE group’s last activity of the week - a speedboat in the Firth of Forth. Absolutely brilliant fun and each pupil even got a shot at driving (sailing) the boat!

Crazy car wash antics in the secondary playground this morning to raise money for the Senior pupils’ residential at Lagganlia next term. The staff and pupils seemed to be getting almost as wet as the cars and it was LOTS of fun!

It was sharktastic in assembly last Friday. Willow Class celebrated World Ocean Day with a fabulous and fun eco themed presentation highlighting the damaging effects of plastic on our oceans. #LfSEdinburgh

Carnival came to Oaklands this morning. A big thank you to Jed our drummer and to everyone who helped put together a fabulous event. There was even an outdoor bar serving mocktails!

Willow class were having the best time in the woods this morning. In the space of an hour, they created a fabulous new sparkly and interactive outdoor area and then had lots of fun playing with it.

We have tadpoles in the school pond! We’re super excited about this and looking forward to watching them grow into frogs.

Barrowland Ballet brought their wonderful show,Poggle, to Oaklands this week. Willow class absolutely loved it!
