Held my game's first playtest last night and holy shit, game runs like a dream. Does pretty much everything I want it to at low level and solves a majority of the issues I have running D&D and d20 systems. It's incredible to watch something work.

It's very satisfying to beta test a crunchy #ttrpg system and to have several players realize that they were only ever fearful of the perception of complexity = unapproachable, rather than trusting in a designer to make things accessible.

Fine-tuning NPC design for this game is probably one of the most difficult aspects of development. "How hard" something is falls apart in scope, especially considering it's possible to focus on characters that are 100% non-combat. Do you ignore balance in this case? Try to estimate closely?
