Dickinson looks a million times more assertive with the puck than he did a year ago.

The Sharks went into the offseason with very few NHL caliber puck-moving defensemen. They now how a handful of competent veteran puck movers that also help them hit the cap floor. Exciting? No. But do they make the team better and fill a need? Yes.

Really wanted the #SJSharks to go after Suter just so he couldn’t hurt them anymore.

Say what you will about Thomas Bordeleau, but at least he was a good AHL player. Glad Mike Grier was able to recoup something for a player who wasn’t part of the #SJSharks’ plans anymore — but it’s hard not to feel underwhelmed here.

The Ravensbergen pick felt odd at first, but I actually like it. Netminders usually take about five years to develop. By the time he’s ready, Askarov will be like 28 and probably getting ready to he a UFA. Could be good insurance in five years if Askarov either bounces or becomes a bust (unlikely).
