Well, it's my birthday, today! Turned 24 & definitely not getting any younger, lmao. Today should be a good one! Hanging out with the family & generally just good vibes. Looking at going into my mid-20s as a time of strength, confidence & overall happiness / health. Just in a much better place. <3

FINALLY got Samba sharing working in Fedora! Just took some getting used to editing smb.conf & SELinux stuff. Not too hard, following Fedora's quick start docs. Let's go! Now I have my ROM & music shelf. :)

Console homebrew, CFW & emulation have been huge parts of my life since I was, like, 7 years old & I first letterbombed my Wii. It's really cool to see so many videos, now that I'm older & understand that this is definitely a shared experience with MANY out there. I felt weird, as a kid. Not now!

Y'know, I've learned that a large part of the reason I don't post about more serious and/or 'controversial' topics is cause I'm often reading, taking in perspective & thinking about these things rather than taking an immediate stance. Nowadays, I'm grateful that I take my time before I speak.

Finding out about, and subsequently, using many various 'replacement' apps on Android TV has made things... let's just say, a bit more bearable, for me & my family. Not gonna name names, but there are lots of great options for launchers, YT replacements, etc...

I swear, I'm loving Fedora 44 for the newer NVIDIA Drivers (595) alone. Being able to set my GPU to prefer performance is SO nice & helpful on a lower-end system like mine.

Nowadays, I'm used to working with modest hardware & making things work. For this reason, I don't mind using Google Pixels. Ultimately, if you're looking for the best performance, you shouldn't be looking anywhere near a Pixel, anyway. Not to say I'm not grateful for the Pixel 9 Pro XL I do have.

Maturity goes a long way. I'll always do my best to be accepting & understanding of difference, but my boundaries are very well set. I'm comfortable with this fact, myself & I hope others can find their own strength & confidence. Maturity, truly, goes a long way.

I've really got nothing to say regarding the whole Ubuntu & Ai stuff. I don't use the distro. I suppose I'd prefer they didn't do this, but we'll see what happens lol I get why many are mad, though.

Just upgraded to Fedora 44 from 43! Everything seemingly is good to go & the update went smoothly. Super stoked to have NVIDIA 595 for those power controls, as well as the new Plasma Login Manager!

Yet another Fedora release is here! Exciting stuff. Hoping the upgrade goes smoothly for those upgrading today!

Many have a preferred Linux distro, whether a flavor of something or something totally new. For me, I prefer the basics. Debian, Fedora & Arch, all vanilla, are the distros I use ONLY. I just greatly prefer using the ones many are based on, if that makes sense?

Looks like I'll be bracing for some HEAVY storms tomorrow. F3-F5 multiple tornado risk with heavy hail + wind. Not looking forward to it, but thankfully, we have a basement here so we should be safe. Either way, I feel for those this storm will effect.

People talk about fans of ___ being annoying or other users of ___ being stupid. How about this: there are annoying & stupid behaviors exhibited by folks all over the spectrum of life? I hate the generalizing mentality many take. Idk, I just believe in the individual & assessing people as such.

Retro Achievements are such a great way to motivate someone to play games from their past, once again. I often struggle with finding reason(s) to do stuff that I enjoy, but this feels like it adds something to each title to work toward at any given time. Really rad. retroachievements.org

I'ma be honest, I haven't used X11 since starting using Linux in 2020 & was more than willing to "fully convert" to Wayland when it started being pushed more regularly. Even with an NVIDIA GPU & an intel iGPU, I have no issues or a single use case that would require X11.

Tried out CachyOS recently... while I completely see the appeal for MANY, it is not my preferred choice, I'd say. I like things being a bit more manual than CachyOS leans, I think. CachyOS is a great, solid base with amazing defaults / configs, but I prefer doing a lot of that stuff manually.

Been without my ADHD med for a WHILE now, finally getting it back in about half an hour. This damn disorder is cruel, but I'm glad I'm able to overcome it, mostly, using coping skills & practicing them when out of my medication. Mental health is tough, but you are tougher. Never give up. 💞

If I was to use a Tiling WM, it'd most likely be Niri. It looks incredibly cool.

One of the best benefits to using Linux, for me, is cause I use lower-end hardware. A 4-Core CPU w/ out hyper-threading & a GTX 1650 w/ 4GB of VRAM. Not exactly a "tank" in 2026. Surprisingly, for what I play & do, I've *yet* to hit the limits of my hardware! On Windows, it would max out quickly.

Android 17 looks pretty neat so far, but I don't think anything will make me quite as excited as the Material 3: Expressive update did when that hit beta. I genuinely was so hyped that I enrolled my phone into the Android Beta Program, at the time.

I'm really not that deep into being "exclusively" a FOSS person, nor do I uphold any strong opinion(s) on matters involving such. I'm just a nerd that is interested in tech! I enjoy sharing this hobby & Bluesky has been, so far, open-minded with me when I do decide to share my thoughts on stuff. <3

Finally been making use of my Google account & Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. I've a plan that I share with my family - keeping track of appointments, storage & it's how my band works on our music. Decided to delve a little deeper into the device & I find some of it actually kinda fun and useful.

It always kinda annoys me how, certain people & most certainly not everyone, take more time to complain over what they dislike instead of enjoying something they do like. I get that this is social media, but I'll always try to use my account for the opposite the best I can. There's lots to enjoy!

While there are, in my opinion, better distro choices for most compared to Debian - I know that Debian, from a minimal base, is exactly what I want. The only real reason I run Debian is because I really *know* what I want my system to be & how I want it to work.

Happy Ubuntu LTS day! I don't personally use Ubuntu, but this release still looks like a pretty solid one, from what I can tell. Always a big deal when a new Ubuntu LTS comes around. Excited for those updating today!

Just had my torrent application, KTorrent, completely crash out halfway through an over 200GB torrent. Somehow, even after uninstalling & re-installing the application, I was able to keep the torrent going from the *exact* position from before via a cached file. That is... wild, to me? So cool!

I've heard some say that Debian Stable isn't what you'd wanna run if you've got an NVIDIA GPU, but honestly- WIth the CUDA Repo allowing use of, quite literally, the newest driver version(s), I find Debian is an excellent choice if stability is your thing over newer features & constant updates.

Just drag & dropped an entire discography of a music artist I love from my PC to my phone. I love KDE Connect so, so much. <3
