The more I see of mainstream rugby media in Ireland, the more I see stuff that's living in the past, where it's perennially 2019. No wonder soccer & GAA subsidise so much of it.

So I've read Conor Murray's autobiography. It's... grand. Conlon writes it well enough. I will say this, though, I can see why they led with the Munster Bad stuff in the serialisation. There's very little else that's even remotely interesting.

On Football Twitter, there's a new account making waves called Hater Central. It was an NBA account earlier this year, but got nowhere (here's their Bluesky account), so they moved to soccer. My hot take is that content like this becoming so popular is a key recession indicator.

Over the last few years, all you heard about from spots like the Indo was how Munster are living in the past and need to move with the times. Now the same guys think that Munster should be dug into every single player from 20 years ago, keeping them sweet.

Munsters issues in the 2010s weren't about signings. It was about the academy not producing at the level it needed to at the same time that economic forces in European club rugby pulled the main financial pulling power to England, along with France, where it was already.

Absolutely. Everything I've heard during the preseason has been really positive. I think we've seen with the likes of Snyman that long term injuries shouldn't define what a guy can be.

Roman is back training with the squad fully, but he's around a week or two out. Expect to see him by Round 2 of the URC and warming up with Edwin Edogbo next week against Bath, all going well.
