Cribbage has a board but we typically call it a card game not a board game. The board is mechanically just a point tracker but it makes it a lot more convenient than if you had to write down your score.

Hmm. The lights on this free car model provide emission textures but then the light vertices haven’t actually been UV mapped to match those textures.

Was inspired by a shot from the furry shojo anime. Made a tool script mesh generator and shader. The flicker animation uses a texture so I could use my Quake flicker patterns here, makes it easy to iterate on sparkle animations. Current animation string is “kz”

Was assigning outline meshes to chess pieces and accidentally did a metaphor.

This is actually 16 intersecting planes but the shader hides every plane that doesn’t face the camera.

Tried out different ways of generating a sphere mesh to see which tends to keep pixels the same size, and actually my SuperSphere code gets pretty good.

Realized I hadn’t tried out my lens flare shader in VR. It seems okay though you can get some flicker with the obstruction.

The way AI-generated game-themed videos keep getting billed as AI-generated “games” or “worlds” kind of bothers me as accepting an imitation of a thing as the thing being imitated.

Spatial kaleidoscope shader in Godot. I did this for a VR thing in Unity years ago but I thought it would be good to try it in Godot.

I ended up making two versions, visible in this video. White egg adjusts with Control and blue egg uses an Elongation parameter.

Something with my “second closest” lut method isn’t doing quite what I would like. This is a smooth gradient from black to white but it has a sudden break where it changes from red/black to yellow/white I guess I hoped for more situations where it transitions from A to B and then B to C

Can I offer you a nice egg in this trying time? (New dithering shader based on my LUT shader, so it uses two look up tables. One for closest one for second closest and dithers between them)

Putting together some 2D options for Godot Egg Tools. Left is an egg parametric texture, right is an egg shaped StyleBox. There’s also an egg bitmap specifically for the Click Mask on a TextureButton. Once I’m thinking of egg shaped buttons of course I want its clickable area to also be egg shaped

The darkest black here has a green tint to it, but I relied on the Gutenberg scan of the book which has the same tint. I haven’t 100% decided how I would compensate if I don’t have an objective truth to compare the scan to.

Trying out Make Human and some gradient shaders in Godot.

This is not a complete solver, it just does the low-hanging fruit like: if a 3 is next to 3 unclicked tiles, flag them. If a 2 is next to 2 flags, click any remaining unclicked tiles. It doesn’t yet handle anything that requires thinking through “this needs a bomb in one of two spots”

I was trying out the idea of mixing fake bokeh on particles with DOF for opaque materials. Blur from camera attributes is applied after transparent, so it would blur the particles as well. An overlay using screen texture will apply to just opaque or a compositor effect for blur.

Added support for F.W. Preston egg measurements to the Godot Egg Tools. This means if you’re reading a book that says the average duck egg has elongation of 1.48, bicone of -0.052, asymmetry of 0.114, you can get what that looks like as a 3D mesh in Godot.

Okay wacky discovery playing with Godot label with shader. I’m scaling text based on INSTANCE_ID that varies per letter. If you have Label Settings with shadow the shadow gets its own ID so scales separately. If you add an outline they get combined into one instance again and scale together.

Generated 20k egg shapes by lerping pairs from my existing 200 egg shapes in hopes of making a look up table.

Made a fake bokeh shader using some stuff from the lens flare shader. Different approach to scaling that uses focus distance uniform and it will layer a second texture with parallax to make it vary a little over screen space.

Okay I got a minesweeper that runs in a compute shader, so individual pixels are tiles.

Made a lens flare shader for Godot. The shader orients to face the camera and samples the depth at the position of the light to see if it’s obscured, rather than the position it’s rendering.

Funny discovery in Godot. I was trying out a lens flare shader that samples depth texture to decide if the light is obscured and it was disappearing in a circumstance I wasn’t expecting. It turns out it was getting obscured by the light gizmo, it’ll be fine in-game.

I remember the same comparisons deployed for cryptocurrency. When comparing adoption rates you have to consider the prerequisites. Are you comparing people who shelled out for some expensive equipment and a monthly fee to people who visited a website and typed a question?

Made a shader with these little zipping lines that follow gradients and a tool script that generated the gradients based on shortest distance within a maze.

One interesting question about this fake paper being cited 42 times is whether 41 of them cribbed from a previous fake citation or if the AI will hallucinate the same thing more than once.

Found these 2001 ornaments in the second-hand store but it didn’t come with pictures so I had to paint my own.

Spline based approach to egg shapes might be wrong path. It’s tempting bc I know position and tangent for three points of the curve but then I need the magnitude of the tangents.
