The lies are exhausting enough, but the media STILL reporting the lies as "this person said this" instead of "this person lied" is enraging.

This unabashedly Puerto-Rico-forward, multi-cultural halftime show is the first time in years I wish I still had Twitter, so I could watch the meltdowns happen in real time.

The game is within reach of either team, but I do feel like my last hour or so has been spent watching boring football.

I'm not sure I want to see a single biopic about The Beatles, let alone four of them.

The new Muppet Show special captures the spirit of The Muppets perfectly. 100%. I loved it. Gonna take me a while on some of these new voices, though.

Every time I see an Instagram video with the text, "Turn your phone sideways," I sigh and move on... because I am on a desktop computer 99.9% of the time and my neck is not built like that.

Speaking as a preacher's kid who was often paraded up on stage & treated like I was special... I see a lot of adorable kids in Instagram content that have no more agency over their current lives than I had as a kid. And I truly hope they end up less bitter about it than I did.

I'm more interested in a spot's consistent fry cook level than I am fry type. Soggy, half-cooked fries are awful no matter where you get them. For me... locally to my local locale... Wendy's and Arby's are more consistent with their fry cook than any other fast food chain.

Over 200,000 in Middle TN are still without power, including my wife's good friend. The high today was 16 degrees (F) and it's 10 right now. We still have power, so said friend & her cat are now comfortable and warm here in our house. Check on friends & neighbors; help them however you can!

Well, we only got about an inch of snow, but now we're getting sleet and overnight we will get freezing rain 0.25-0.75". Ugh. THEN, after the freezing rain, it's going to snow more tomorrow. So, yeah, I'm no going anywhere for a while.

For anyone in the storm's path that is forecast to get snow first, followed by freezing rain (as we are), here's a tip: If you are home & able, get out to shovel in between the snow and the freezing rain. Ice melts faster on concrete than it does on snow & shoveling snow+ice is lots more work.

I've lived in Baltimore, Indianapolis, Chicago, Chattanooga, and Nashville, & NO ONE freaks out about incoming snow like Nashville. 2" in the forecast and bread & milk disappear at the store immediately. Now they're saying we might get 6-14" & I still have to do a regular grocery shop tomorrow.

The Martian is one of my top three favorite movies. But it's still hilarious to me that when they made the film in 2014, they just assumed GoPro design wouldn't change for the next 20 years.

Indiana University is the best team in college football this year and it's not particularly close. (I can't believe that sentence is true). BUT... they still need to finish this game out AND win the last one to prove it. As someone who grew up in Indiana... I hope they do.

It's getting harder and harder for me to escape into sports in the face of the daily shocking news events. Just feels weird to witness something awful and then cheer on (mostly) wealthy athletes. If it's still a viable distraction for you, I'm jealous (no shade).

Ah, my usual fireworks neighbors are at it again, because they super love the passing into the New Year and not because they just love setting off fireworks for any excuse they can find. Anyway, yes, my cats are traumatized and hiding right now. Happy New Year, fireworks assholes near me!

My brother & I were raised by a father still learning to say "I love you"; though he did learn to say it. Now that we're older & bonding more, my brother & I end all emails with "love you!" & it's awesome! "Happy birthday, love you!" "Go Orioles, love you!" "Christmas at our house, love you."

Tomorrow my wife & I are repeating our annual tradition of Christmas Eve Bacon. It's a very complicated ritual that involves cooking a bunch of bacon and then... eating a bunch of bacon. This year I'm going to make some everything-bagel bacon and some peppered bacon, alongside regular bacon.
