The match of the night kinda turned out how I expected. Great vibes, the crowd was loud but Carlos Alcaraz wins in straights. After watching the Fonseca v Alcaraz Exo last December it was pretty clear it’s a match up Carlos doesn’t have a problem with.

Upset of the day so far. Opelka takes out Jack Draperat th Miami Open. Draper was also out in the 2nd round last year but it was to the eventual winner.

In between rain delays Victoria Mboko came through her first round match with a quickness. She returns to the Miami Open where it all started 365 days ago. She returned as the 10th seed with a masters title and looking incredibly comfortable where she is.

Ethan Quinn is taking it one day at a time. He took time after his win in Arizona to enjoy the win even if it was for a day. The rest and recovery helps him play better and right now he is playing very well. He defeats Hurkacz again this year to get to rd 2 of the Miami Open

Moise Kouame is a teen, breaking records on the pro tour. I asked him if he was able to find that balance of being a teen and a pro athlete, he accepts there are some sacrifices he has to make to have the career he wants. Definitely one to watch this season.

And just like that we are in a different area code. Just watched Bianca Andreescu get through the first round of qualifying. The Miami Open has such a different vibe to Indian Wells. Food scene is insane. Can’t wait to share all week.
