We will now be selling starter plants at the Village Market that are directly from the Seeds of Harmony Community Garden. Each of these starts have been grown from seed in our greenhouse. #FoodSovereignty

The current political climate has been challenging in securing funding through our some of our usual government grants. Many grants have either been frozen or have just straight up disappeared. We are proud to announce they were have resecured our grant from the EMSAWCD!

Daniel has played many roles at Our Village Gardens. Currently he is the Program Manager at the Village Market. He came in strong immediately making improvements at the Village Market that have been well received by the community.

Our celebration for Cinco De Mayo was a resounding success! Done in conjunction with Homeforward in the Community Education Center in New Columbia. The line was LONG from beginning to end. Music, food, face painting, Loteria and community. Who could ask for anything more?!

We have a new gardener who noticed that a few wheelbarrows needed to be fixed. She asked if it was "okay" if she fixed them...because she has a background in wood & metal work. Another one of our gardeners donated a wheelbarrow to the garden because it didn't fit within their backyard. #Community

This Saturday, March 22nd from 11am-12:30pm we are at it again! Come through for a joint workshop by Growing Gardens and Our Village Gardens. We will be covering seeding and starting some seeding for this upcoming season. As usually the workshop will be presented in English, Ki-Swahili and Spanish.

We have started off the season with our first workshop on soil health. We ran this workshop in conjunction with Growing Gardens. The turnout was incredible with 40+ gardeners ready to get busy for this season!
