A part of me keeps asking myself… is 2026 the year I will commit to posting more art? But then I think about the absolute grind of being chronically online & all the hours I lose to actually creating… I just don’t know if I have it in me. I want to, but we will see. I want to create more first.

What a year of development. As an artist. As a human. My #ArtvsArtist is a reflection on how I pushed myself, as well as the things I explored, the joy & sorrow that I experienced. It was a year of multiple realities as the climate & society reach a point of crisis, but every day life carries on.

Watching yet another artist post about how ppl take their art, plug it into ai, alter & repost it as their own. I’ve seen artists start to put it in their contracts with clients that you can’t do that. Does the world WANT artists to disappear? Shall we poof & let you have a world full of ai sludge?

Anyone else have a kid who asks them what they are gonna do one day on Christmas without them? Cause my youngest asked me that yesterday. The audacity. We do not speak of such terrible days.

I was up till 2am on Christmas Eve wondering if I was the only parent who still can’t sleep the night before Christmas. All the presents were fully wrapped days before, I just couldn’t sleep. Too much excitement. Was that just me? — hope everyone who celebrates had a good one 🎄

We are having our 4th significant windstorm all within the span of a few weeks. My kiddo asked if this is a new normal and I really didn’t have an answer.

Sometimes I want to create video content of me talking just so I can hold a tiny microphone between my thumb and index finger. So dainty.

Most of the time, I don’t want to be anywhere near the internet these days… but then I log in and see a cool animation a friend posted and—it convinces me that sometimes it’s worth it.

I’m that level of tired today where it’s hard to move from point A to point B. As in, I’m sitting in my car? I live here now.

Inspiration is so interesting. I vividly remember ideas that have come to me in the past like a storm of excitement—I remember feeling like these ideas were special/had potential for something great… then there’s no follow through beyond jotting it down— time goes by. 1/2

My daughter just wanted to talk tonight & started telling me what she loves about Christmas—she described how much she loves the sensation of coming out to the Christmas lights all lit because I’m always up before her—she shared that hearing Christmas music always takes her to that moment #melting

Are we leaving Instagram? Is it happening? I have kept my account to pop on there, keep up with friends & orgs—lately, every time I log on, I see more artists & people say they are leaving, share WHY & the importance of standing up to Meta. Is it really happening 🥺 I really hope so.

I can’t believe my trees are still standing right now. Don’t get me wrong. I’m so grateful… but it is a full gale out there.

I’ll be honest, I dislike drinking coffee out of a thermos to the point that I would rather not drink it at all. It’s a mug or none at all.

The factors that discourage me from being online are also what make me daydream about making a solid effort to come back—AI. I hate popping on only to question every video & post. It makes me want to crawl into a cave & leave society. It also fires me up to want to stay & post human-made content.
