Just submitted the text on the United States to #IWGIA for the next The Indigenous World. So proud to have written it for the last 22 years. This year was hard. Budget cuts, Oak Flat, Colorado River water, climate crisis, weakening public lands and environment... but land back is still going.

Once a year, I have to soak in some Americana. It is great in small doses.

Sometimes it is good to remember that beauty is just around the corner (especially on public lands).

Years ago, well sites on private lands had horizontal drill paths that reached under Native-owned lands. It was a subject in tax talks between Fort Berthold and the state, and in musings to get around fed regs on the reservation. Some of my students were sure it hapened to their mineral rights.

I am just going to put this here. Feel relaxed in a healthy, fun, friendly world for five minutes. White picket fences, skylifts, windpower, and blue sky. Could be Iowa.

Dogs might be climate harmful because they are carnivores. Sure. But they probably eat more grains than their owners and the meat they eat, let us be honest, is the waste from the meat their owners refuse. So, humans are much more harmful. They should eat less meat. And be less hypocritical.

Honored to be part of this programming. Need to think about Indigenous peoples and the constitution - the most important thing is that it did not affect or include Native nations, and that now it hugely affects but still does not include them. Or something like that. #NativeSovereignty
