We protect children from tattoos, alcohol, contracts, and surgery without necessity because they cannot consent. But somehow irreversible genital cutting gets labeled “routine.” That contradiction deserves way more attention than it gets.

A nation that values freedom should value bodily autonomy. Defending citizens includes defending children. Protect the vulnerable. Question routine circumcision.

When did medical ethics become optional? Why is “do no harm” negotiable when money’s involved? Why is “choice” applied to everyone except the patient? If it’s truly ethical, why does cosmetic surgery on infants need to be defended as "parent's choice?"

Medicine is supposed to be guided by ethics, not habit. When something is done automatically, rarely questioned, and financially rewarded, it deserves more scrutiny, not less. Especially when the patient has no say. “Routine” shouldn’t mean above criticism.

Imagine using peer pressure to justify a permanent procedure on a child. That’s exactly how circumcision keeps getting normalized.

If a baby girl deserves protection from unnecessary cutting… why doesn’t a baby boy? Same principle. Different reaction. Why?

If you took a blade to any other part of a child’s body, people would call it abuse. Call it “tradition” and suddenly it’s okay? Circumcision deserves the same scrutiny. but it rarely gets it.
