Reducing the NIH overhead rate to 15 percent is a major attack on higher education. It is one of the most dysfunctional things the Trump administration aspires to do. Universities will respond by moving indirect costs to direct costs, but the chaos in the meantime will disrupt research.

Census is back up. Hooray!

The Census web site is down. Possibly a Trump administration decision that we should not be able to have access to actual data on issues like racial differences in outcomes? Usually my feeds from Census data users would provide an explanation for something like this, but none has been forthcoming.
