Don Tremaine’s Reel was composed by Barrie, Ontario fiddler Graham Townsend, (copyright 1961) and named for the announcer of the CBC television show "Don Messer's Jubilee." The melody is a past favorite at New England Contra Dances.

The song "Blue Diamond Mines" was written by Jean Ritchie, a traditional singer from eastern Kentucky's coal country. The song is about the coal mines in the area where Ritchie grew up.

My interpretation of this Irish Reel. The group Altan (one of my favs) included a wonderful rendition of this tune on their album of the same name.

This is an original piece about the 5,300 year old "Iceman" or Ötzi who was found on September 19, 1991 by two German tourists, at an elevation of 3,210 metres (10,530 ft) on the east ridge of the Fineilspitze in the Ötztal Alps on the Austrian–Italian border.

“The Raggle Taggle Gypsy” is a traditional folk song that originated as a Scottish border ballad, and has been popular throughout Britain, Ireland and North America. It concerns a rich lady who runs off to join the gypsies (or one gypsy).

This was a tune I learned from watching my Mother play on this very piano which has been in the family for at least 3 generations. I recorded this video as a tribute to her and the many happy musical memories we shared.

The Reel of Mullinavat is a traditional Irish reel named for a town in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It's a staple of the Sligo fiddle repertoire, particularly after being recorded by Michael Coleman. The tune is also known as "Cor Mhuilleann An Bhata," meaning "mill of the stick" in Irish.

The tune, "Buachaill ón Éirne" (which means "Boy From the Erne River" in Irish Gaelic), is an old Irish air. The words for the song "Come By The Hills" were written by W. Gordon Smith, a Scottish journalist and playwright, in the 1960s. He set his lyrics to the traditional Irish melody.

The Rev Archie Beaton was minister of Dundonald Parish Church, Ayrshire. He died suddenly in 1971. The air was written by John Mason, a native of the Orkney Islands. He is conductor of the Kilmarnock and Ayr Strathspey and Reel Society, and a well known conductor at Fiddle Rallies.

The story behind the tune "The Teetotaller's Reel" (also known as "Temperance Reel") is closely linked to the temperance movement of the 19th century. The name "Teetotaller's Reel" directly refers to individuals who abstained from alcohol, a key aspect of the temperance movement.

A lovely aire written by Scotland’s own musical treasure, Dougie MacLean of Perthshire for his parents. He is best known as a folksinger and songwriter (his best known song is “Caledonia”). Dougie also plays fiddle and he has composed some brilliant tunes!

"Dunmore Lasses" (also known as Morrison's Reel) is a traditional Irish reel tune, with a history linked to Galway flutist Tom Morrison (1889-1958) who recorded it in 1927 under the title "The Dunmore Lasses".

The Star of Munster is a classic Irish reel, normally played in the key of A minor. Sligo fiddler Kevin Burke recorded a version in the lower key of G minor. In this key he was able to get a lot of extra open strings and drones, and a driving old timey American feel.

A set of 2 Jigs, the first is by the well known and very talented Irish Recording artist, John Doyle followed by a traditional tune, and lastly transitions to a Reel which I believe is also one of John Doyle's tunes and title song to his album.

The song "It's a Working Man I Am" was written by Rita MacNeil. Her autobiography mentions that a tour guide suffering from throat cancer, sparked both the melody and lyrics for the song. The song became an anthem for coal miners worldwide and achieved significant popularity.

Written in 1984 by English composer Simon Jeffes (1949-1997) from the group “Penguin Cafe Orchestra”, “Music for a Found Harmonium” has been described as "minimalist folk music. Music for a Found Harmonium was originally recorded on a small organ called the harmonium.

This tune is from the renowned Donegal fiddler, James Byrne who has recorded it on his album “The Road to Glendalough”. The group Altan have also recorded it on their album, “The Red Crow”.

Pay attention, people.

Wild Mountain Thyme is a short song but the words are so expressive that they provide several potential titles. The song is so popular in Scotland that many think it is Scottish, but it is in fact an Irish song.

This tune is attributed to Irish piper Garrett Barry, who was born in County Clare in 1847, during Ireland’s Great Famine. Known as “the blind piper of Inagh,” Barry was in demand for his piping of dance tunes and slow airs.

The traditional Irish fiddle tune "The Blackbird (A Lon Dubh)" is a Jacobite song that originated as a song and is now most commonly known as a set dance. The song's title refers to the blackbird, which is one of the many allegorical names used by poets and bards to refer to Ireland.☘️

“Langstrom’s Pony” is one of the oldest played jigs in the Irish repertoire, the tune may be of Scots origin. "Lang Strumpony" and "Lass Trumponey" have also been ID from older Scottish collections, and there is some conjecture that these permutations may have derived from titles in Gaelic.

A tribute to Mr. Wallace Henry Hartley and those that perished during the maritime disaster of the Titanic on April 14-15, 1912. Mr. Hartley was depicted in the movie "Titanic" as the violinist who led the band in playing the first tune as the ship was going down, which is historically correct.

“Crooked Jack” was written by Dominic Behan to the Traditional melody of "The Star of the County Down". It tells of the hardship of the men who toiled at building the roads, railways and hydro dams in Scotland. It was a hard life and some didn't survive and most were old before their time.
