At our AGM we celebrated with our President and Fool, John Strait, by presenting him with an engraved rose bowl to thank him for his 50 years with Jockey. Cheers John!! On to the next 50.....

Our Squire Pete and our Brilliant dancer/musician Fraser were at Peterborough Day of Dance yesterday, and performed with a scratch side with friends from other sides. Thanks go to Peterborough Morris for another excellent day.

Sunday at Bromyard got a little damp in the afternoon before dancing had to be abandoned. We tried to shelter, but the gazebo couldn't hold off the rain as we watched Gidderskins having a paddle at the Rose and Lion...

Congratulations to our Alfie who was presented with his baldrick today and danced out for the first time in his full kit!!

We're underway in Bromyard!

As usual, Jockey will be performing at Bromyard Folk Festival this weekend (storms, plague or pestilence permitting). If you're there come and see us and say hello.We like human contact!

If you've thought "I'm not a folkie, would I fit in with a morris side?" then don't worry! Our musicians can help by channelling Hawkwind to invoke the Spirit Of The Age... It's not all work either. Particularly when we head over to mainland Europe we like to soak up the local way of life!

Jockey are in Saddleworth for the Rushcart weekend. Meeting up with friends from other sides is a big part of the joy of morris, so here are some of Jockey and Cambridge Morris Men!

Tomorrow (21st) from 8pm we will be at the amazing Beacon Hotel in Sedgley with 1st Sedgley Morris for their end of season bash. There will also be friends from other sides making it a great night! Join us all for some ace beers from the Sara Hughes Brewery along with fine music and dance.

Today Jockey, along with lots of other sides, are performing in Stratford for Shakespeare Morris day of dance. If you're in the area, why not come along and see some great music and dance?

A fantastic night yesterday at the Cask and Craft. Good reaction from the audiences sitting outside for a drink in the lovely evening weather. And many thanks to Mo at Mother India for bringing us a huge stack of poppadoms, onion salad and mint raita! They went beautifully with the great beers!

This Friday night (15th) we will be performing from 8pm approx at the Cask and Craft, 56 Boldmere Road, Boldmere B73 5DP. Come along for music, dance and and some amazing beers!

RIP Ozzy A Birmingham legend has left us.

Today we're back in Birmingham with lots of friends, to celebrate the Bulls In The City trail. Should be a good one, please come along and see the fun!

Tonight it's a pub night! From 8pm we'll be at the Colmore on Colmore Row, B3 3BD, in Birmingham city centre. It's a great pub with a fine selection of beers, tonight with added Jockey!! Come along, we'd love to see you.

We had a great night at the Griffin at Shustoke last night, as guests of our old friends Anker Morris. Beautiful weather, good company, and a couple of very nice ales. Works for us!

What a day yesterday in our fantastic home city! We met Sabbath fans, Jeff Lynne/ELO fans and people at the Colmore Food Festival. Fantastic reaction from the good folk of Brum! Special thanks to The Colmore and Albert's Schloss for the support and hospitality. Ozzy is right - "Birmingham Forever!!"

Tomorrow (5th) we will be in Birmingham from 1pm approx: 1 pm: Outside the Colmore 2pm: 1 Centenary Way (between Chamberlain Sq and Centenary Sq) opposite Albert Schloss After that is fluid at present due to the Colmore Food Festival, and a couple of very high profile gigs! Updates tomorrow!!

We had a fine time last night at the Rose in Baxterley. Thanks to our hosts Anker Morris Men. Great to meet up with you and fellow guest sides Ansley, Shakespeare , Knightlow, Coventry and Dolphin.

Today I had cause to venture to B&Q. On the way in I saw this display. If you know you know..... Jockey knows. Many Flemish friends know. Ants. Make sure you're prepared.

Tonight from 8 pm Jockey will be performing at the excellent Prince of Wales in Cambridge St. Birmingham (behind Symphony Hall). We always enjoy our visits to the Prince of Wales, so why not come along and have a cooling drink while watching a bit of morris!

Yesterday we were in Stourbridge for the day of dance organised by our mates Bedcote Morris. A good day out and, as you can see, we were constantly in a frenzy of intense action...

On Wednesday we went to the Stag's Head at Wellesbourne and had a great night with hosts Hereburgh Morris plus White Hart, Shakespeare Morris and Belle d'Vain. Tonight we'll be dancing at the Jewellers Arms, Hockley Street B18 6BW at approx 8 pm. In the Jewellery Quarter, appropriately enough!

Yesterday we returned to Bearwood Artisan Market. Our John Rose was, unfortunately, insulted by the cheese he bought. Ah well, these things happen!

We sucessfully danced up a spectacular sunrise. Birmingham will have its sun for another year! It was so powerful, it set fire to our sticks...

Well, Saturday at the JMO in Stockport was a good one!! Great friends, excellent dancing and music. As a bonus, after our show dance we were presented with a rosette. As Best in Show, we're each taking turns in having the rosette pinned to an ear....

Tomorrow (26th April) we are heading up to Stockport for the JMO Day of Dance hosted by those fine folk Adlington Morris. If you're in the area come along and take in some great morris dancing and some excellent music from more than 50 sides!

On Good Friday evening we returned to the 1000 Trades. Windy and occasional drizzle, about 15 degrees colder than two weeks ago! Isn't Springtime lovely??!!

We had a great day out in the sun yesterday. Three spots at Bearwood Artisan Market then off to the 1000 Trades in Lightwoods Park for another couple of spots and some well deserved refreshment!

Our Ale last Saturday seems to have gone down well with our guests (and us, come to that!) Some of the dances done on the evening had Borderish tendencies, including this rendition of White Ladies Aston.

We've had a delivery of new Jockey t shirts and hoodies. The tees come in a good range of sizes, from "Harvey" to "Considerably Larger"...

Tomorrow we will be taking part in Aelfgythe Morris Wassail in Alvechurch. Kick off 4:30 at the Crown, Withybed Lane B48 7SQ, then at 6:30 process to the Weighbridge, B48 7PN Other than Jockey and Aelfgythe there will be 4 other sides plus the Sealed Knot. Two great pubs, dance, music and songs.
