It is beyond surreal that at the same time I was at the congressional building to fight for SNAP and Medicade Nancy Mace and Ronny Jackson were calling for my and my community's forced institutionalization and almost no one is talking about that.

Dear trans family, We are not defined by the actions of an individual. You are not at fault, and you are not the problem. You are loved. Stay safe.

Two things i wish more people understood: 1) it is okay to have a kink (or even several) and 2) it is not okay to force others to engage with your kink(s). Clear, enthusiastic consent is the foundation of a healthy sexual ethic.

I meant to post this yesterday, but the news of Andrea Gibson's passing was still raw. I let the poem linger a bit beneath gray skies. I am thinking of Andrea—their work, their reverent irreverence, their passion. This poem is dedicated to them and to everyone seeking a bit of hope.

Andrea Gibson (they/them), award-winning poet, activist, and Colorado’s Poet Laureate, died on July 14, 2025, at the age of 49. They passed peacefully at home.

Today is International Nonbinary People's Day. As a genderfluid femme, i fall under the nonbinary umbrella. So, just a friendly reminder that nonbinary people are not limited to just androgyny. We come in as much variety as women and men do.

Today, my gender is the moment just before the butterfly chooses its wings; it is stolen fairy fruit—sweet, tart, and flavorful. My pronouns are moonlight and moth, and I perform the scared task of pulling gender taut to play like a fiddle.
