Something actually being employed and doing game dev every single day has helped me with is: now I'm actually faster when it comes to building systems I have an idea about, like I can just brrrrr and throw a UI together whereas that would take me a few days before.

Does categorizing games in genres hold designers back? Like if I start putting my game in a genre am I more compelled to make decisions along the line of "games in this genre need to have xyz"?

When I start thinking about algorithms in content the best advice is literally "I'm making content for people not math functions" - worried about how often to post? "I can probably communicate a schedule" - worried about algorithmic appeal "imagine one person the vid is for" Works every time.

I started using a Wii fit to track my BMI recently, although that little voice can be brutal, honestly the silliness of it all helps keep me consistent and looking forward to tracking things.

Stop killing games is great and all but I'd also like some laws that force companies to indicate outsourcing credits. Some of y'all so called "solo devs" and "small team of 5" are lying and I wish I could expose you >.<

I'd love for someone with more influence to do a deep dive on the games porting and outsourcing industry one day. It seems like the only losers in this scenario are people that can't work in primary game dev regions and therefore are stuck trying to work in "outsource" regions.

So I'm all for piracy when it comes to consumers actually being able to own things. However it's kinda sad to see piracy normalized in corporate settings when a company can very much afford a tool/resource but will choose to pirate it instead (and profit from that too)
