The spirit of Evil Dead is not in the violence but in the absurdity, there are moments of highlights in recent films but nothing quite catches the magic. I know the first movie was trying to be fully horror, but in hindsight knew what it was and we got Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness from it.

Alan Wake 2 just looks like this.

Alan Wake 2 is a miracle of a game. Up with the likes of Ocarina of Time, Death Stranding, Silent Hill 2, Bloodborne, Shadow of the Colossus. A game that just fires on all cylinders, knowing exactly what it is and is born of pure inspiration and spirit. History book worthy quality.

Saw an ad for a “scrolls-like” (ew) game being made by an indie dev. The first thing it did was say fuck Todd Howard, then proceed to say they’re making ES themselves, then proceed to list off things in the game that they know damn well did not make ES good.

Anyway, here’s a Leon.

I never thought it would happen, but the quantity of incredibly high quality games that have come from the Resident Evil franchise is pretty wild. I may have to say I’m a bigger RE fan than Silent Hill. That being said, SH2 and SH3 are masterpieces that may sit higher than most RE games.

I can’t think of any larger deterrent for me when it comes to a game than someone telling me “omg you can do ANYTHING it’s like this big sandbox and —“ That sounds horrendous. I’m so tired. Like 3 games have actually had this be the focus of the game and it have been done successfully.

Ocarina of Time remake. If this is true, there is no bad reason for it to exist. - The highest rated video game of all time. - A market that has had overwhelming success with remakes - Something people have asked for for years

The way so many people judge horror movies based on “how scary they are” is pretty disappointing.
