The 2026 Family T-shirts! I tried a different technique this time - ice dyeing. While I like the saturation, this is not an easier or less back-breaking technique. I was going for northern lights imagery, but in the end some are more Monet’s Water Lilies. No matter, I like that too.

Friday Science Experiment - Black Pluot-infused Cognac! I love how red it is already. I bought the pluots yesterday and intended to make simple syrup. When I cut them and saw that color, I had to freeze them and make a cognac infusion instead.This is going to make some fantastic Sidecars. 🍴🍽️🍸

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew is an original - the Antidote. Those if you who have mercurial teenagers know where this is coming from. In any case, I was pleasantly surprised - the lemongrass-infused vodka and St. Germain go very well together. George disagrees. 🍸🍴🍽️🐈

Another science experiment! This time I am making spiced pear syrup - way in advance so it is ready for autumn. In the jar are 3c 100 proof vodka, 1.5c cane sugar, 3 large Bosc pears, 2 vanilla beans, 2 star anise, 3 cinnamon sticks, and about 8 cloves. Check in on this in a few months! 🍽️🍴🍸🍐

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew is a Strawberry Rhubarb Vodka Gimlet! It uses both my strawberry-infused vodka and my rhubarb simple syrup, and has a great sweet-tart dichotomy going on. The color is gorgeous, too! 🍽️🍴🍸🍓

Andrew loves Green Chartreuse… I tolerate it (I like Yellow Chartreuse much more) - so we look for cocktails that meet both of our cocktail tastes - and this much just be it. It’s a doubleheader in Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew! This is a Sidecar riff called the Getaway Car. It has Larceny 125 proof bourbon, Cointreau, and lemon juice. Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew is another thing I completely made up - the Cherry Kamikaze Spritz! It’s a Kamikaze cocktail topped with Prosecco. Not terribly sweet - if I made it again, I might add some syrup, but it is refreshing! I can’t wait to eat the cherries at the bottom. 🍸🍽️🍴

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew is yet another experiment! I took a gimlet recipe, added in the ginger liqueur and used the hibiscus tea syrup I made. It is so good! I used Old Tom gin, which Andrew says is sweeter than others. He wants to try this with Plymouth gin next time. 🍸🍽️🍴

More Friday Science Experiments! This is simple syrup made with Raspberry Hibiscus tea. I found the tea at Homegoods and it looked interesting - and I love the dark red intense color. This is just a mocktail with some leftover cranberry juice, sparking water, and syrup. 🍸🍽️🍴

It’s a doubleheader Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew! This is the Intense Ginger Sidecar, also made with the cherry-infused Cointreau. I taste the cherry more in this one, and it works so well with the ginger liqueur. Recipe below! 🍽️🍴🍸

Friday Science Experiment! I saw a post on @likeablecocktails about using frozen fruit to infusions for better results, so I had to try this out. Here we have frozen quartered black cherries infusing some Cointreau. The best part is this should only take about 4 hours not a few weeks! 🍴🍽️🍸

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew is one I made up with not just 1, but 2 of my science experiments - the Devil’s BlackBerry! It’s a riff on El Diablo, but with ginger-infused vodka instead of tequila, and Crème de Mûre instead of Chambord. It’s so good and ginger-spicy! 🍸🍽️🍴

Ginger-infused Vodka and Lemongrass- infused vodka are done! I sampled the ginger one - quite piquant! The lemongrass on has a floral/herbal scent, but I am not sure I would have guessed lemongrass had you blindfolded me to smell it. Both ended up at about 38% ABV. 🍴🍽️🍸

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew is Still Life - a Calvados cocktail with Apricot liqueur. This is the first time we have used Apricot liqueur, and I can get over how it lingers and you taste the apricot last. I quite like it! Recipe below! 🍽️🍴🍸🧶

Following up in the Crème de Mûre experiment - I ended up decanting this tonight after about 6 weeks of steeping. I only had a quick taste of it before cleaning everything up, and it is so sweet and blackberry-tasting. I can’t wait to use it - I bet it would make a fabulous spritz. 🍽️🍸🍴

More science experiments! In the smaller jar we have lemongrass-infused vodka, and in the larger jar we have ginger-infused vodka. The ginger one is going to have a definite kick - 2 very large (as big as my hand) pieces of new ginger were used. Now to wait it out and see what we get! 🍽️🍴🍸

My neighbor had a huge tree in her backyard cut down - I had to take a pic because this thing is massive! The tree was about 3-4x the size of her 2 story house, and it was cut in chunks. The chunks are now laid out like a giant’s building blocks along the side of the road. 🌳

It’s an Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew doubleheader with a Sumo Orange Margarita! For such a large fruit, we had a hard time getting 4oz of juice for the 2 drinks. Science Experiment Friday! I came across BuildShakeStir’s videos on Instagram for making cocktail ingredients, and I was hooked! Here we have basil infused vodka and oleo saccharum made up. They both need to steep a bit, so I have some time to find some cool cocktails to make with them. 🍽️🍴🍸

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew is a simple one - the Stone Fence. Basically, 2oz of apple brandy over ice topped off with 4oz hard apple cider. We used Angry Orchards’ Green Apple cider for this one. I found the recipe in this library book! 🍽️🍴🍸🍎

It’s a doubleheader not Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew. This is the Aphrodisiac - it has vodka, ginger liqueur, pineapple juice, and lime juice. Sweet and fruity - I really like the ginger liqueur in it and the candied ginger garnish. Recipe below.

Oh! This is good! It’s supposed to be White Chicken Lasagna soup, but I opted for little pasta balls (looks like large couscous, but is pasta) instead of lasagna noodles. Other mods: leeks instead of onions, and about 3x the garlic called for. The recipe I used is below. 🍽️🍴

Not an Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew because I am not having this one - a Maple Whiskey Liqueur Old Fashioned! 2oz rye whiskey, 3/4oz maple whiskey liqueur, 3 dashes Angostura bitters, 1 dash orange bitters, garnish with an orange peel. Stir and serve over a large ice cube. 🍴🍽️🍸🧶
