January 20th - A Journey with Goddess. Kunapipi - Aboriginal goddess. Also known as Gunabibi, She is a mother goddess. Her name means 'womb'. According to Aboriginal mythology She was the first mother, and gave birth to all life. #WitchSky

January 19th - A Journey with Goddess. Andraste - Celtic warrior goddess. She embodies victory, triumph, courage. She was invoked by the mighty Boudicca before battles with the Romans. Her name means 'She Who is not Fallen'. May Andraste inspire us; we stumble but we will not fall. #WitchSky

January 18th - A Journey with Goddess. Ma'at - ancient Egyptian goddess of truth, justice, balance. Right now, it feels like the world could do with some powerful Ma'at energy. She is the cosmic order; she maintains harmony and stands against the forces of chaos. #WitchSky

January 17th - A Journey with Goddess. Sopdet (known to the Greeks as Sothis). A lesser known Goddess, but one that I love due to her association with dogs. She was an Egyptian goddess associated with Sirius the dog star, and was often depicted with a star upon her head. #WitchSky

January 16th - A Journey with Goddess. Sedna - Inuit Goddess of the ocean and marine life. Most legends tell of her clinging to the side of her father's boat, before he severs her fingers and she plunges into the depths. Her fingers then become the seals, whales, walruses, and fish. #WitchSky

January 15th - A Journey with Goddess. Al-Uzza, Al-Lat and Manat. These three were worshipped as a Triple Goddess in pre-Islamic areas of the world. Al-Uzza. Goddess of the morning & the stars. Al-Lat. Goddess of peace & prosperity but also war. Manat. Goddess of fate, time and death. #WitchSky

January 14th - A Journey with Goddess. Nyx - Greek Goddess of the night. An ancient, primordial goddess. Daughter of Chaos; Nyx is a formidable goddess; feared even by Zeus. She travels across the sky in a chariot, bringing the night by drawing a mantle of darkness across the land. #WitchSky

January 13th - A Journey with Goddess. It is time for one of my favourite faces of Goddess. Kali is the Hindu divine mother - goddess of destruction and creation. Kali brings about the endings that are necessary for new beginnings. Do not fear her; she brings total liberation. #WitchSky

January 12th - A Journey With Goddess. Pasithea - one of the Graces in Greek Mythology. She is also a Nereid, a sea nymph. Pasithea embodies rest, relaxation, tranquility. It's cold and dark out there. Don't push yourself; it's still the season of rest. #WitchSky

January 11th - A Journey with Goddess. On this day, the Romans celebrated a festival to Carmenta - Goddess of prophecy and childbirth. She would give out her prophecies in song – hence she was known as Carmenta, which means 'The chanter'. #WitchSky

January 10th - A Journey with Goddess. Artio - Celtic bear goddess. It is still dark and cold, and so just like bears, we should hibernate indoors as much as we can. Artio is the bear goddess; she rests and replenishes in the winter and then emerges, transformed, in the spring. #WitchSky

January 8th - A Journey with Goddess. Storm Goretti is hammering the UK, and so we are honouring the Cailleach - a Gaelic Goddess of winter, the wilds, and storms. Most often depicted as an old crone; she is a formidable deity with the power to shape mountains and command the weather. #WitchSky

January 8th - A Journey with Goddess. Today is National Bubble Bath day and so we honour Sulis - Goddess of the hot springs in Bath, England. Her waters were revered and bathed in for centuries; pilgrims would travel from all around to receive healing. #WitchSky Artwork by Thalia Took.

January 7th - A Journey with Goddess. Today is Distaff Day - a traditional celebration of spinning and weaving. It feels apt to honour The Norns - powerful female figures of Norse Mythology. These divine beings spin the thread of destiny; deciding the fate of all beings. #Witchsky

January 6th - A Journey with Goddess. Today is 'Triple Goddess Day' and so it's time to honour Hecate (also spelled Hekate). I took this photo in The British Museum when I was lucky enough to see this rare display of her triple-form statue. #WitchSky

January 5th - A Journey with Goddess. The festive season is over, and now we face weeks of bitter cold with very little cheer. And so we turn to Eos - Greek goddess of the dawn. If you can, wake up and savour the sunrise. There is always light, even on days that seem the darkest. #WitchSky

January 4th - A Journey with Goddess. It's below zero here in London and much of the UK is blanketed in snow. And so we honour Skadi - Norse Goddess of winter and wilderness. She is fierce, wild, and resilient. Skadi reminds us that we too can face this harsh season and see its beauty. #WitchSky

January 2nd - A Journey with Goddess. It is National Science-Fiction Day, so today we look at Eywa - the goddess in Avatar. Eywa is the energy that binds everything together; She is the Great Mother. Eywa was created by James Cameron, but he was inspired by the Greek goddess Gaia. #WitchSky

January 1st - A Journey with Goddess: Let's start the new year with Isis - goddess of renewal, healing, motherhood, magic. Her name in Ancient Egypt was Aset (or Au Set) which means 'throne'. She of 10,000 names. Call upon her at the start of this new year. Let Her renew you. #WitchSky

Happy Saint Lucia's Day! This is a very important celebration in a number of countries. In Sweden, it is a day which symbolises light in their long, dark winter. The black swallowtail caterpillar loves my dill and completely blends in! I’m so amazed at how caterpillars do a complete transformation into butterflies! In fact other insects do a complete metamorphosis too, like the Japanese beetle, June bug and houseflies. All insects are amazing!
