Pixie update. Still sick and weak. If feeding gravy with a syringe, as she's still not eating. Nose still blocked, but occasionally I get big globs. Trying hard to not let her nose crust. She's on antibiotics, steroids and steam inhalation. Next vet appointment tomorrow morning.

A friend of mine just posted an article about Millie Taplan that claimed "Muslims targetted..." Millie's drink was spiked and she suffered horribly. However, nowhere does she say "Oh it was a muslim" or anything like that. Fact is, she didn't know who did it. I told her to take that crap down.

Pixie woke me for some cuddles and purrs! So we had cuddles of course. Still sounding bad with the blocked nose and not eating, but she's drinking. Well, slurping. Back to vet in an hour and a half for tests, IV fluids, and observation. Hate to leave her there, but she needs to get better.

I am so, so tired. But... Pixie needs me.

Vet appointment at 3pm. :/ 6 more hours. She's peeing, pooping, and drinking, but not eating. "Snorkeling" for want of a better word, and still hot. Trying to keep a feverish cat cool in a heatwave is no mean feat.

I go do cold compresses on sick Pixie, meanwhile other cat steals my sandwich. Thanks.

Okay, she *may* be a little better. Still very snotty breathing, but not jerking upright to catch her breath, or breathing through her mouth (odd thing to see on a cat) We're still going to see the doc when they open. I'm doing cool compresses every 10-15 mins, trying to get the fever down.

Also, I'm both hungry and have nausea.

Please keep Pixie, my cat in your thoughts. She's not well, is running a fever and has a very snotty nose and trouble breathing on occasion. Vet first thing in the morning, but until then... I worry. A lot.

Okay, I have to say it. Yes, I am going grey. Faster than I'd like, but hey. That's aging. Some people my age are already completely grey. But when you tell me I should "Dye it so it doesn't look scruffy"? Fuck you. And trust me, if I do end up throwing some dye on it? It'll be purple and green!

Thought I'd put this here. This is my "Insect water trough" It's filled with marbles and rocks, so insects can safely get water without drowning. (Ditto for little critters like mice!) The butterflies, moths, hummingbird moths, bees, grasshoppers, crickets... you name it, are all using it.

I have 3 indoor cats. Naked ones. They BASK in this heat. But they also get through nearly 2 liters of water per day atm, and I empty and refill those 1l jugs at least once a day, so the water is cool, not tepid. No dry food atm, just wet food. (I'll regret this...)
