Later morning trip to the market. My CSA share was mixed greens, swiss chard, radishes, and dill. Other purchases were flank steaks, curried rice salad & a roast beef sandwich, flowers, Gouda cheese curds, new potatoes, haskap berries, and strawberries.

Spinach salad with red onion, apple, chipotle pecans, dried cranberries, a little leftover chicken and a homemade apple cider vinaigrette.

Okay, I'm nosy, I admit it. I went out on the deck to read yesterday just as the RCMP and an unmarked car showed up. I did briefly think it would look odd if I retreated. So, instead I watched as they cuffed the guy across the street and later towed a vehicle away. /1

I admit I'm a bit of a sucker for farm delivery. I've bought from these people before, and moved stuff around in the freezer, so placed an order for tonight. This time I went for the smoked pork collection. Lots of smoked sausage and bacon for the freezer. Well, I opened a package already. 😉

Morning trip to my local market. I actually go for my CSA share. The other items are just a bonus. I got new potatoes from, noodle salad, fudge, oyster mushrooms from steak, jalapeno spread from, eggs, asparagus, tomatoes and strawberries. All NS grown or produced.

Ummm... When my parents had a fence put in I remember them letting the concrete cure before actually building the fence. If they start at 7:30 am is 3.5 hours long enough? Of course they'll have to dig, place, then pour. It would be too funny if they fall over while raising the flags.

So, from my purchases yesterday: I made a beef/kale dish. Brunch was bacon, eggs, strawberries with a piece of brown bread toast with homemade conserve. Made some rhubarb cake. Tonight a salad made with mixed greens, roasted beets & asparagus, Gouda cheese curds and pecans (Ontario grown & made).

Just for fun, adding this as a separate post. This is bedroom #3 in my pre-fab. The shelving, and a lot of the stuff came from my bigger place. I'm not sure if it will ever be better. I've been digitizing some things. This coming winter I may start to get brutal on the other 'stuff'.

I hope they don't mind, but our local Masstown market posted this today. Californian strawberry on the right, locally grown Millen Farms berries on the left. If I don't get any at the market on Saturday I'll take a drive out next week. Not on Saturday though, it's insanely busy.

Lovely dinner tonight with Ontario turkey meatballs, local NS asparagus, homemade cranberry orange compote. Followed it with a NZ golden kiwi. Four months in and still not buying anything from the US. Although I managed on stored crops over the winter it's nice to see the asparagus starting.

There I am, year unknown, but probably the mid 70s. I'm third from the front, on the left. At the time I would have preferred playing hockey, but there wasn't a girl's team. Instead, here I am, a Raindrop Carrying a Pole. 🤪

Spain, 1994 - the end of the trip. Well, she spent some time in Scotland before heading back to Canada. That was mostly a family visit with just pictures of meals out.

Morocco, 1994 - this was a trip my mother took after spending, I think, 6 weeks in Portugal. It was the trip where she made a new friend from Argentina, who she visited a number of times. I visited once at the end of a cruise. She came to NY, then Canada a couple of times.

Portugal, 1994 - I remember my mother calling home complaining about it being a little chilly in the morning. In Ontario it was - 40 and we had a couple of feet of snow. It was unusual to have both, but it was a fun winter.

So, after lots of procrastination, I finally dealt with the first of the fruit infused liquor. I basically made blueberry vodka with a touch of citrus. It started with a big box of blueberries last year from a local farm. To make it into a liqueur I'm supposed to mix with sugar syrup... /1

England, 1993 - this was the last stop before flying home, however, there was a side trip to Scotland first. Unless there are some pictures in another album I only took video footage. Although I have lots of pictures of Scotland.

China, 1993 - the sixth stop on the journey. The next stop was to be India, however, there was a travel warning issued because of bombs. The people we were going to meet told us not to come as there was so much security that travel was impossible.

Hong Kong, 1993 - Stop 5 on the trip was in Hong Kong. We had a trip booked into China and needed to apply for our visas. At the time you usually had to book with a travel agency. When we returned to China in 2007 it was much more relaxed.

Australia, 1993 - this was the fourth stop. We did the typical tourist stops - Sydney, Alice Springs and Cairns. The picture of my mother is on top of Uluru (Ayers Rock) which they eventually closed in 2019.

New Zealand, 1993 - third stop on the trip. The scenic shots are Mount Cook, sunrise at Queenstown and Milford Sound.

Our second stop was Fiji. The hotel has changed, and the area is very built up, but this was on Denaru Island. It was a hotel built into the jungle making a point to fit into the landscape. It eventually became a Sheraton. The best shots (lost) were video, although my mind remembers.

So, I never did find the video compilation, but I did find a book of pictures! This was an around the world Trip done in 1993. Canadian Airlines did a fare that you could travel in one direction for a single fee. This was the first stop - Honolulu, Hawaii.

The few pictures in the back of the album had a few scribbles on the back. This was me on my 3rd birthday. It looks like someone tried to straighten my hair a bit but it's winning at the ends. The chair there I still have, recovered of course, but over 55 years old and still going strong.

These are scans of very old pictures in an album that are from 1964. The first three were taken at the Ontario School of Horticulture. My mother and father are with my mother's parents. The final one is a picture of the falls from Oneida Tower.

So, I'm scanning these in no particular order. Although, not the same exact angle it is a good before and after shot of the patio. Yes, it was indoor outdoor carpeting. It was definitely an upgrade to the mosaic tile.
